Show TWO PIONEER COUPLES HAVE GOLDEN WEDDINGS Special to The Tribune. RICIIFJELD, Nov. IS. Two more of Rlchfield'a old pioneer couples hnvo Jived to i see tho anniversary of llXty years of married life. Mr, and Mrs. IInn O. Hansen Han-sen and Mr. and Mrs. Niels C. Buck colo-brated colo-brated that event. Each couple was entertained en-tertained at the home of a son, tho one at tho home of H. P. Hansen and tho other at the home of Nells C. J. Busk. A number num-ber of the Intimate friends of both couples wcro present and after enjoying a nice dinner In honor of tho occasion the time was spent pleasantly In various pastlmea. Mr. and Mrs. Hansen were among tho first settlers of Richfield, and they were, with tho others, driven out by the Indians. In-dians. They resettled hero and have on-Joyed on-Joyed the highest esteem of tho cntlro community ever since. They are the only surviving married couple of pioneer days. They are quite hale and hearty at 77 years of age. Mr. and Mrs. Busk have lived here for a number of years and aro highly respected respect-ed citizens of this plnce. Thomas Fouts, who has been tho Denver Den-ver & Rio Grande agent at Elalnoro for eight years past, ha9 been promoted to the agency at Prlco. Tho ptomotlon Is highly deserved. Sherman Bowen succeeds him temporarily. Tho "Wlnget house In Monroe has changed hands. Luclan Wlnget. who has conducted It for a number of yenrs, has moved to Klmberly. Mrs. M. L. McNu-mara McNu-mara has taken churgc of tho hotel. Constant Thueson has returned to hlH home In Monroe, after a two years absence ab-sence on a mission In New Zealand. Rain Is needed on the descrus now no that sheepmen can get their llocks out. Feed has been cleaned out on the fall ranges, where there Is water, and It Is becoming be-coming qulto difficult to keep the sheep in good form for winter. Herds have to bo kept well down out of the hills because a snowstorm, which might come at any lime now, would provo disastrous ir It should catch flocks In the mountains. The official vote of Wayne county showa some close races. The Democrats olect their representative In the Legislature by onlv four majority. The Democratic candidate can-didate for Sheriff woe olectcd by four ma-Jorltv ma-Jorltv and tho candidate for County Attorney At-torney by eight mnjorlty. The Democrats also carried the county for H. N. Hayes for District Judge and for the County Superintendent Su-perintendent of Public Instruction. |
