A. .Shear has tho contract for the erection of the (ilencoe concentrator, lie nays the lumber has all been ordered ami as soon as it arrives the work of fram i n the building will hecin. it will bo framed in the park, and Mr. Shear has contracted to finish the build-ing aud have everything in ship-shap-by the first of July. Hesides tho con-centrator there wUl be erected a board-inj- f house, assay ollice, blacksmith shop, stables and other buildings necessary for tbe operating of a big mine. The concentrator will be 40 x HO feet in size, ami will be located just be-low t,he Four'h of July tuoutl iu such shape that the ore may pass from the mine into the top of the building and sent through tho entire works by tho force of gravity. The concentrator will be supplied with Wall rolls, llarty jigs, and Herkenshaw's (iilpin county tables. It will have a crushing capac-ity of from 75 to bit tons a day, but it is thought that only about CO tons per day will be han-dled. It will be operated by steam, the engine being of 60 horse power and the boiler sixty. Neil Gillis, foreman of the Ontario No. 3 mine, met with a serious ac-cident Friday morning. He was going down the nranway when a plank fell from above, striking him. Ho was knocked from the ladder, and fell a tlistauce of ninety feet. Besides break-ing an ankle hn received other injuries about the body which will lay him up for a long time. He is getting along as well as can be expected. Work on the erection of the Anchor hoisting works was begun last week. The work will be prosecuted lively hereafter. Work on the Gem group has been re-lumed. Look out for shipments from tbe Gem soon. The work of erecting the hoisting works at the Daly No. will be com-menced soon. Tarkites who purchased Crescent slock when it was hovering around twenty cents, are feeling very good now. The Ontario mill shipped last week thirty-fou- r bars of bullion, containing tiT,;i(ii.41 fine ounces of silver. At its present price the shipment of silver amounted to $J(l,fiit.71t. John llether has leased the Creole dump and will jig it. There are about eighty tons of second-clas- s ore in the dump. Assessments of two cents a share have been levied on West Eud and Lucky Rill stock. Considerable work is being done on the Crescent tramway preparatory to putting on the new engine, Pros-pector. At present the Maud Withey is doing tho work and a great amount of ore is being brought down from - the mine daily. Messrs. Chambers and Daly will soon select a Bite for the Daly West hoisting works. Here is a property that will ltirpri.se the natives when development work is begun on it. Considerable snow fell up in the mountains during tho last week. The storm has been a terror in this region. Kidder & liro. are preparintr to drive about 2,000,000 feet of saw logs down the Weber river during high water. They will drivo the timber to Wanship. w here their sawmill is located. Col. Wm. M. Ferry left the Park Fri-day morning for Washington, D. C. He expects to be abseut until the first week. Park City feels proud of the Hon. E T. Ferry because of his election as chair-man of the Trans-Missisip- Commer-cial congress. Mr. Ferry is a man emi- - tiently litted for this position and the convention couldn't have made a better selection especially since silver was the principal topic for discussion. j So long as this cold weather lasts you will be interested in coal.
