The thea-ter has been entirely rebuilt, on a larger and more pactical scale, under the di-rection of Autenschaeger, a machinist of the opera house of Munich, for the "Passion Play." It has a large, closed stage, with a curiam, surrounded on the sides and front by platforms and colonades. 'The open air width alto-gether is 1)8 feet, depth T." feet. The scenery is all new, painted by Purghurt of Vienna. The auditorium is of tho same width, with a depth of 100 feet, and seats about 4000. As in the old theater, only half is under cover, the front portion being in tlio open air. All the seats are numbered.
