ashes and enter into the I spring gaieties with more vim than < ever Dancing parties will of course be of rare occurrences from now on the most Important affair of this kind announced being the ball at the University Uni-versity on Friday April 6 The Charity Char-ity Tea at the McCornick residence next Friday evening will be largely attended at-tended The most important social event this week will be the Charity Tea at the residence of Mrs AV S McCornick on Friday evening March 30 Xo invitations invita-tions will be issued and all the charitably char-itably l inclined are invited to attend The admission will be 25 cents and a number of the society young ladies will assist Home made candy will be for sale and all of the features which have made proceeding affairs of this nature so attractive will be in evidence The last ball of the University series will he given by the Delta Phi society at the University on Friday evening April 6 The parties given at the University Uni-versity have been among the most enjoyable en-joyable affairs of the season and this closing event promises to eclipse all others Christensens full band will be in attendance and the ball will be under the management of F M Driggs F W Reynolds Theodore Ny btrom H L Nelson and J H Hoopes On Friday evening Mr and Mrs H J Rivers entertained nine tables at high five After a delicious lunch was served some very line music was heard Those present were Mr and Mrs Geo Brice ilr and Mrs J W Sullivan Mr and Mrs Arthur H Parsons Professor and Mrs Krouse Mr and Mrs Kendall Ken-dall A Andrews Mr and Mrs S S mans first prize while Dr Whitney faucceeded in carrying off the second At the handsome suburban residence of Mr and Mrs Dan Harrington an interesting birthday party was held yesterday yes-terday afternoon and evening Early in the week several of the relatives and friends of Mrs Harrington decided tl give her an emphatic reminder of the fact that another milestone in her arl r had been reached and so well was this idea carried out that before the lady scarcely had tune to realize it informal callers to the number of about sixty took possession of the house and the hostess completely and by delightful de-lightful manner listening to musical selections se-lections and Manager Burtons proposition propo-sition to the company to sing their harmlng work one night during conference con-ference was discussed and accepted The party broke up about midnight after a most enjoyable evening John S Coon and Miss Josie Buck were united in marriage on Thursday evening at the residence of the grooms parents Mr and Mrs Cahoon will beat be-at home after today at 363 First street One of the most enjoyable parties of the winter was given Mr Orson Brooks last Friday evening by some of his lady friends It was a surprise and was very successfully carried out but Mr Brooks was equal to the occasion and assisted by his sister Mrs Hume soon made the intruders at home All formalities for-malities were
