The police interfered to save him and four persons were arrestnl. A serious riot occurred at the election elec-tion in Limerick, to-day, between the partisans of the two rival candidates of the National party. Knives and pistols were freely used. Several persons per-sons were wounded. The police put down the riot alter arresting a number. num-ber. The report that the Pope would hold another consistory next month is erroneous. A consistory was held today, to-day, when the final ceremonies of installation in-stallation of the recently appointed cardinals were celebrated. A number of bishops were appointed. |
