February 19. A message was received from the Council, stating that that body did not concur in the House amendments to C. F. No. 8, pertaining to highways, and asked for a committee of conference. Messrs. Howell, West and Cannon were appointed on said committee. H. F. No.; 48, amending the charter, of Pleasant; Grove City, by reducing the boundary lines: was next in mvW nt business, and was taken up and passed. The substitute for f! The amendment extends the time for companies filing their annual statements, and . provides that such conlpanie3; must 'have at least a capital of $200,000, one-half of which must be paid up. ' COUNCIL MESSAGES. ' A message was received from the Council Coun-cil stating that the upper house had concurred con-curred in the House amendments to C. F. No. 32, preventing the befouling of illl.-l.-5. , The Council passed H. F. No. 47,the new jury bill, after amending the title. H. F. No . 6, amending section 1058. chapter 1, title .4, laws of 1884, relative to the enforcement of. liens, passed its second reading and was recommitted to the J udiciary Committee to be considered in connection with a bill of like character now in their hands. . No. 21, to provide pro-vide for the printing of 5,000 copies of the biennial report of the Territorial Superintendent Su-perintendent of District Schools and that of the Chancellor and Board of Regents of the University combined, by nistkin- i the number 500. Mr. Cannon moved that the House insist on bavin" 5 000 copies of the reports printed. The motion to insist was carried. No. 29, a bill to provide pro-vide revenue for. the Territory of Utah and the several counties thereof, with recommendations that it be put upon its passage; also, the petition from the County Court of Box Elder county, and stated that there is a bill now pending which fully covers the desires of the reti tioners. The Committee on Judiciary reported back H. F.
