Show CALISTHENICS AND GYlINASTICS Institute Excrciscsdf tl Collegiate Classcsat lime Liberal Institute The Liberal Institute was crowded last evening to witness the exhibition in calisthenics calis-thenics and gymnastics by Miss Kelleys class from the Collegiate Institute These I exercises seem to be growing in popular I favor and the school now that does not have gymnastics is far behind the times j i i They have been taught by Miss Kelley I i in the Collegiate Institute for two years and the exhibition last evening shows how successful have been her efforts in striving to give the scholars healthy and strving sound bodies and ease and grace 1 I motion A song by the grammarroom class opened the exercises after which was a piano duet by the Misses McRobbie and McDowell Following this were the free gymnastics by the intermediate department depart-ment which were very skillfully performed per-formed Little Ethel Froiseth then gave a piano solo The little lady is only nine years of age and for one so young showed a remarkable talent for the fine art She was warmly and deservedly applauded Following this were the Belief of Lucknow a recitation by Esther Cohen a piano trio by Misses Cunning Travis and Remington and a recitation What Mr Robinson Says by Will Bruce all ably rendered The exercises closed with calisthenics by young ladies of the grammar gram-mar and high school which need no description de-scription j they should be seen to be appreciated ap-preciated Notice was given by Rev McNeice that the closing examination of the school will be held on Thursday of this week and that all are invited to come Also that I I the pupils of the intermediate and grammar gram-mar rooms would give an entertainment on Thursday afternoon in the Liberal Institute In-stitute |
