Show 31. E. Church Sociable. The members of the Methodist church and their friends held a very enjoyable social last evening in the church parlors, readings, vocal and instrumental music serving to constitute a very pleasant entertainment. en-tertainment. Miss Ida Hitchcock recited one of her choice selections, "Kentucky Be e ;" Mr. T. E. Harper gave "Simon the Cellarer," with good effect; and a trio by Messrs. TIarper, Bennett and Newcombe was well appreciated; Miss Halverson's vocal solo was rendered very nicely, and Mrs. Uiff. contributed a select reading An organ solo by Mrs. Wilson was one of the enjoyments of the evening, and tha simultaneous playing of Mr. Bennett upon up-on harmonica, guitar and triangle, captured cap-tured everyone. All present were delighted de-lighted with the programme. - |
