Show Elections Elections back back in junior high again Dean Cruff Gruff Staff fT Writer WriterS AS S I was going to class Monday morning the da day started out to be just an ordinary day Then as I started to walk to class I looked around and saw campaign posters stickers and banners flying all over the place The first thing I thought was my car was a Delorean and I went Back to the Future Im I'm Imback Imback Imback back in junior high school I feel students at try hard to let everyone everyone everyone every every- one know we attend a reputable school Then r j we are given a junior high approach to student student student stu stu- stu- stu dent government elections We need to grow up and put on a quality election By doing this students might even attend the debates and really care who was going to win J 1 I feel there ne needs ds to be some control over how many posters can be used and where tt they ey can be put Because there are too many posters it sends a negative image Get rid of the spots and little signs that cover our cam- cam fe tt pus Can you imagine the United States Presidential Presidential Presidential elections with dots and tiny signs all over our country especially ones that have spelling errors all over them As a staff writer I sat down to write the story on the candidates I got scared thinking that there were maybe ten students who watched the debate I was thinking that whoever whoever whoever who who- ever spent the most money or had the most friends would run our school I was wondering while I listened to the debate de de- de- de bate how bate how many of these candidates really care about the issues and how many felt being in student government would be good for their egos I think the funniest part of the whole debate was watching candidates talk to toan toan toan an empty room about apathy on campus One thing that really is scary is one party has to run a mystery candidate because one of their running mates didn't qualify to run runby runby runby by the deadline Now they want you to write him in Great that's what we need someone need someone not on top of things in office I believe that needs to stop and take a good look at the way elections are held We need to run a professional election and not a junior high one |
