David Fontana and Ric and Joshua of West Valley City were here Thursday to Sunday visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hicks. Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Simpson and family of Fairview were here for the weekend visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Simpson. Mary Keisel of Orem and Paul Valasquez of Salt Lake were here for the weekend visiting at the home of Evelyn Keisel and also with Mrs. Gordon Keisel and Mr. and Mrs. Bart Keisel of Redmond. Visitors at the home of Ruby Peterson has been Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hammcrschmidt of Cayuse Arizona and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Calson of Salt Lake and Barbara Bates also of Salt Lake. Bill and Virgie Nielsen ac- companied Roger and Gayle Nielsen on a lovely trip to Colorado. They visited Durango where they took a Trip to Yesterday on the narrow gauge Silverton train from Durango to Silverton and returned, visited the D.&S.N.G. Railroad, traveled to the Million Dollar Highway as it climbs the Red Mountain pass, stayed at Ouray where they saw the Hot Springs Pool and trilled at the sight of Box Canyon Falls. Bill and Virgie summed it up this way; An exciting breathtaking trip with a wonderful brother and sister Roger and Gayle. Cameron Thorpe accompanied this son Redge on a trip to California on the weekend. Andrea Jackson spent last week with her grandparents Essie and Lenoir Sorenson. Her mother Lois came to pick her ups on the weekend. Julie and Elwood Sorenson are the grandparents of a new baby girl bom to Paul and Tyron Sorenson of Boulder City, Nevada. The little Miss was bom Saturday, August 27, 1988 and will be named Lindy Lee. She was welcomed home by a sister Summer and brother Jamie. Brent and Joan Newman and Ryan, Raymond and Randy enjoyed a day at Lagoon Friday, August 19, 1988 where they saw fellow Axtcl-lite- s, Sheryl and Preston Steiger and Leticia and Derek also having a good time. On Saturday the Newmans visited in Ogden with son Robert and Annette Newman and Salinda. They attended the Weber County Fair where Robert participated on a team to mud wrestle pigs which was a hilarious event. Robert will start at the Ogden Police Academy in September. Alice Durio returned to California this week after spending the summer in Axtell. Bob will follow in a few weeks when the irrigating is finished. Don and Eunice Despain were over a week to visit daughter gone Nalina nd Mark Dana and family in ( 1. Fort Benton, Montana. They had to take the long way home as they could not come through Yellowstone Park. Greg and Nanette Despain and boys of Logan visited on the weekend with Kaye and Marius Despain and other family members in Axtell. Donna Vee Sorenson visited Saturday in Redmond with her mother Veda Jensen and sisters Beverly Markos and Elaine Safran from Northern Utah and Virginia Grendhal and her friend Carol McDonald from California. Carol prepared a delicious dinner for all of them to enjoy. Doug and Joan Gillies visited with their daughter Shannon and Loren Wadstein in West Valley City. They dined out at Diamond Lils and went to the Lipizzaner Stallions Show. The traveled to Colorado to visit with Joans parents Ross and Ethck McCausland. They saw their daughter Tracy and Joans sister and brother and their families. Joan enjoyed a helicopter ride to the high country for a picnic and they rode the narrow gauge train to Ross and Ethels Mountain Cabin and spent a few days. Kirby and Kirtlcy Bertelson spent a few days in Aurora with Kendall and Linda Bertelson while their mother Arva Lee was in the hospital. We wish her a speedy recovery. Harold and Ruth Christiansen spoke at the Sacrament Meeting with Susan Christensen playing a piano solo. Rex and LaPreal Olsen spent a few days last week touring southern Utah accompanied by friends Dell and Betty Kelson. They spent a night with Russ and Connie Stevenson in Blanding. They traveled the Burr Trail but had to turn back bemuse of flash floods. They went through Boulder Mountain parts of Bryce Canyon, and through Zions Canyon to Leeds where they visited with Rexs sister Faun and Jerry Anderson and granddaughter Teri-ly- n Stevenson who is working in St. George. Happy Birthday wishes are extended to Leah Bird on August 28 and Kirtley Bertelson September 1. His sister Vivian Whitlock sang, Steve Anderson and his brother Dale Whitlock and mother Susan Anderson all talked. Family dinner was held after Church at the family home in May' ' field. Keith Larson and sons Kevin and Brian spentlast week at the home of Katie Larson. They enjoyed going up the mountain. They went up Salina Canyon and along the Skyline Drive. Keith lives in Salt Lake City. The Stanford and Jean Peterson family went to Cedar Breaks and Bryce Canyon last week for a last little vacation before school started. Mike Packingham and wife Laurie have moved from Mayfield and now live in Gunnison. Gerald and Beth Ann Wilden have had all their grandchildren with them the past week. Many of them come from Reno where school doesnt start until September 6th. These grandchildren enjoy going to Kens cabin to stay. The John Jerimah Pickett Reunion was held Saturday, August 27, 1988 at the Gunnison City Park. There was visiting from 12 to 1 p.m. At 1 p.m. there was a Potluck Dinner held. He was borne on January 14, 1914 to Lewis Frederick Harris Sr. and Flora Mcllen Harris in Salt Lake City. He married Irla Marie Olsen on April 27, 1937 in San Francisco, California. He was a factory worker forRheem Manufacturing. He was a member of the LDS Church. Survivors include: 2 children, Lewis Frederick Harris III, Gunnison and Diana Drace, California, 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
