August 24. 1988 3 Talent Find Winners The , Annual Farm Bureau Talent find'competition held during the FaiLsaw the following winners: Jessica Barney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Barney, Aurora, took first place honors in the Tina Crowe, Junior Division; daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Crowe, of Monroe, was the Intermediate Division winner; and Jeanne Crawford, of Richfield won the honors in the Senior Division. These girls will be competing at the Utah State Talent Find during the Utah State Fair in September. Other winners included Cory Snedeger, 2nd, and Substance Abuse confab Rebecca Johnson, 3rd in the senior division; Janelle Coates, 2nd and Taz Marie Christensen, 3rd in the Junior section; and Mindy, Jon and Katie Ogden 2nd, with Brenda Coates 3rd in the Intermediate Division. New Physics course set at Sevier Valley Tech Sevier Valley Tech Area Vocational Center was recently awarded a federal grant to implement a course called Principles of Technology a physics course that applies to mechanical, fluid, electrical and thermal systems. The rapid pace of technological growth is being recognized as an important factor in the education field, according to Ralph Blake, who will be instructing the course. Technology Education must become part of every students basic education in the U.S. is to compete with the rest of the worldjie noted. Sevier District policy for free reduced meals for school children given Regular priced meals for Sevier District students will be as follows: $1 per day; Elementary: Middle School, $ 1.10 per clay; High School, $1.10 per day; Adult, $1.50 per day. Sevier School District has announced its policy for free and reduced price meals for children unable to pay the full price for their school means. Application forms are being sent to all households who qualified last year; are available at the district office and all schools; and are being sent home with students on the first day of school. Applications will be processed beginning August 18. The household must provide the following information on the application: names of all household members; social security numbers of all adult members, or a statement that they do not possess one; total household income; and the signature of an adult certifying that the information is correct. Households are required to report increases in household income of over $50 per month or $600 per year and decreases in household size. Families currently receiving AFDC or food stamps can complete an abbreviated application based on that eligibility. The information given will be confidential and will be used kept for purposes of determining only eligibility and verifying data. No child will be discriminated against because of race, color, sex, national origin, age, or handicap. If basic course in applied physics. Students planning careers in engineering, physics, chemistry or any of the technical fields will benefit from a hands-o- n practical physics course, Blake stressed.
