Show Elder Reese Final curtain for Manti's will report on his Mission Mormon Miracle Pageant Gordon Reese, son pf Wayne and Diane Reese, of Salina, will report on his Mission April 21, 199 1 in the Salina Fourth Ward, in the Salina Stake Center, at 2:50 p.m. Elder Reese has been serving in the Tahiti, Papette LDS Mission. The 25th production of the Mormon Miracle Pageant will be and the pageant held this year will be the last as it has been known according to Don V. Tibbs, of Manti, Chairman of the 25th Anniversary Committee. Tibbs said officials at church headquarters in Salt Lake City have decided to rewrite the pageant. A special invitation is being extended to the public to attend the Pageant on July 1 1, 12, 13, and 16 through 20th. The production will begin about 9:15 p.m. on the south side of the Manti LDS Temple on each of those evenings. During its 25 year lifespan the pageant has grown from its humble beginnings - tolastyearsrecordof more than 130,000 visitors. People attend the pageant from all over the world. When you consider that Manti has less than 2500 residents, the size of the audience, presentation and production are remarkable, said Tibbs. Thousands of people have been touched by the Pageant performances, but none more than those who have worked closely with it and who have seen it grow through the years, Tibbs noted. Tibbs, Judge of the Sixth Judicial Court, was in the first cast of the pageant, and had the last live voice as a cast member prior to the presentation being recorded on tape. The first year of the pageant, about 500 people were expected, but more than 5,000 attended. Use a microwave cooking bag. The bag ensures more even cooking because it holds heat and moisture in. Without the bag, evaporation occurring during the cooking process actually cools the pork to a less safe cooking temperature. Select a port roast that is no more than four inches in diameter. A thicker cut does not allow the microwaves to penetrate to the center of the roast. Cook at a low temperature setting (about 30 of maximum). This would make your cooking time about 22 minutes per pound. Cook the pork until its internal temperature reaches 170 degrees. After you take the pork from the microwave oven, wrap the entire cooking bag and roast in foil and let stand ten minutes to complete the cooking process.
