Acordlng to Mr. James Adamson, who is in charge of all activities on high school day at the University, greater interest than ever before is being ehown in the forthcoming debating contests as evidenced by the increased number of schools which have entered the league organized by the State University. In a letter sent out to all debate coaches, Professor Herbert E. Maw of the Public Speaking Department of the University, and who is in charge of the debating contests, announced the question for this years Resolved: arguments as follows: That Installment Buying Should be Condemned. Professor Maw also states that the purchase of the following on the installment plan are not to be included in the debates: homes, bonds for purposes of saving, and buildings and equipment for business purposes. PROVO Much good has been done the highways of the state by the thaw of the last week, It was announced by H. S. Kerr, chief engineer of the state road commission. The thaw has settled the snow and all the roads in the state are reported to be in better condition than prior to the recent storm and thaw. Lochry, federal milk inspector, was here the early part of the month, he visisted about seventy-fivdairy farms producing marketable milk, and took samples from each place. Mr. Lochry met with the owners of a number of farms, and instructed them how to change their methods so as to produce a cleaner product. He then took another set of samples for testing. OGDEN Announcements was made by the Sperry Flour company that the construction of a flour storage warehouse and twenty-eigh- t large tanks for grain storage used at the companys Ogden plant, which has been under contemplation for some time, will begin at once. Cost of the work is expected to be nearly $250,000. LOGAN Members of the Cache Holstein Breeders association, with Nephi Nelson, president, presiding, held a special meeting at the courthouse Saturday evening and selected the Holstein cattle to be sent to the annual Ogden livestock show. The association also made plans to hold a meeting in the near future to award certificates to all dairymen whose herds during the past year averaged 300 or more pounds of butterfat, as shown by the records of the VERNAL Uintah countys budget for 1928 is placed at $32,999.50, an Increase of $7153.50 over the budget of last year.
