ASK SALINA FIREMEN Last week's windstorm whopper! Last weeks wind storm had gust up to 60 miles per hour, according to the Weather Service Station in Richfield, and during its short reign, it caused a lot of damage in Sevier Valley. Several trees were blown over, trailers tipped, car ports and porches blown away in the Salina, Aurora, and Redmond area. In Salina, the dust from the wind was so heavy that the Main Street lights, which operate by light sensors, automatically turned themselves on for several minutes. Changes planned for Gooseberry Camp The Lions Club, of Salina, worked at Gooseberry Campground last week to help get it in shape for the coming warm weather, when many people, local and tourists, take advantage of the beautiful campground. The Salina Fire Department is asking community input on if s 4 th of July activities and games to be planned for this year. Their activities and games have been held at North Sevier Middle School grounds for the past several years. Some feel that holding the events at the New City Park would provide more room; have fencing to contain animals, etc., however, there possibly could be problems with young people getting out to the park if their parents cannot take them there. Another suggestion has been that the events be held at the new North Sevier High School Track and Field Complex. This area would not be fenced, but would be centrally located. Others would like to have the activities at the Middle School as in the past. If you have a preference where like to see these4th of July would you activities held, would you please call 1 ; or call any of the City Hall, 529-36- 5 will decision A Firemen.
