Show DUCHESNE COUNTY democratic convention the democratic county convention met in the opera house at duchesne on saturday september tern 23 at 11 a in m the convention was called to meet at 10 a ni but as all of the delegates g tes had not arrived at that hour the meeting was not called to order until their arrival the convention I 1 was vas called to order by J E L carey of fru froitland fruitland Fruit atland land who was elected temporary chair man the chairman on motion named one delegate from each precinct on resolutions or order der of business and credentials after which the convention adjourned until after dinner about the convention reassembled and heard the reports of the various committees which were accepted john N davis of cedarview Ced arview was made permanent chaira chairman rian of the convention and D L carmody of AT myton lyton was secretary the chair I 1 then hen declared that nominations for representative in the state legislature 0 ire were in order john R vilson of duchesne wa was s placed 3 in ti nomination then G B billings of duchesne was vas also nominated tellers were appointed ind and the delc delegates a les proceeded to vote on the two favorite sons tha results showed aj 6 0 for billings and 6 for wilson on motion tion the he rules were then suspended c aad and mr billinga Billin gd nominated 1 unanimously nominations were then which was carried nominations Nomination 3 were then called for for county clark and the name of F AT shelton of duchesne being the only name presented to the convention the rules were suspended eus sl spend cd and mr shelton nominated n abed by acclamation for recorder the name of miss alice todd of myton was vas presented and there biri b in but one can bidal the ruf were suspended and miss todd was vas declared nominated by acclamation J P madsen of duchesne was nominated for treasurer there being out but one candidate for treasurer the rules were suspends and mr madsen was nominated by acclamation for sheriff reuben wilkins of mt home and joseph timothy of cedarview Ced arview were placed in the ballot resulted 37 for wilkins and 32 for timothy whereupon mr wilkins was declared the nominee for sheriff three candidates were nominated for assessor glen lambert of roosevelt B A of fruitland froitland Fruit land and al E harm ston of roosevelt mr harm ston declined A ballot was ordered and the results were lambert 39 carey 30 lambert was declared nominated clarence L ashton of roosevelt was then nominated for then nominated for county attorney on motion there being but one candidate for county attorney the rules were suspended and mr air ashton was nominated by bv acclamation D L carmody of myton was non nominated for surveyor and there being but one r cand candidate position glen lambert is the candidate for assessor mr lambert w was as raised and educated in roosevelt he is a graduate of duchesne high school and is a model young youn map the county attorneys
