Show Thursday. June 5. 1947 Myton Mrs. Grace Dalgleish The My ton baseball team played play-ed the Neola No. 2 team, Memorial Mem-orial Day on the local diamond. The game originally forfeited at the opening of the season, gave Neola a second chance to meet the Myton players. A large crowd enjoyed a rather onesided one-sided game as the final score was 22 to 4 in favor of Myton. Henry T. Howes and family, of Salt Lake City, visited with Mr. and Mrs. James Dalgleish Friday enroute home from spending Memorial Day in Vernal. Ver-nal. Mr. Howes, a former resident resi-dent of Duchesne, will be remembered re-membered as associated with the Duchesne newspaper when under un-der the management of Steve Johnson. Later he was attached to the newspaper staff in Roosevelt. Roose-velt. Donald Gentry, A. S., who enlisted en-listed in the U. S. Naval Reserve early in April, anticipates entering en-tering training in August. He will receive 2 weeks cruise training, aboard ship, on the Pacific. s i Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Ross are rejoicing over the arrival of a son, born May 31st at the Roo velt hospital. This is the first boy in the family, their only other child being a girl. Heber Allred is a visitor at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Olc Peterson. He arrived Thursday from Salina to attend to his property pro-perty interests. Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Anderson Ander-son and family arrived Friday from Phoenix, Arizona to spend a few davs with Mrs. Anderson's mother, Mrs. Johnson, who has charge of their hotel. They expect ex-pect to spend the summer months in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Abplan-alp Abplan-alp and family, of Helper, arrived ar-rived Sunday to be present at the funeral of Gladys - Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Ellsworth Cox and family "Came from Heber, Monday to attend the Gladys Smith funeral services. Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Barker enjoyed a weekend visit from Mr. and Mrs. Beverly Key and children, of Bountiful. Mrs. Key is Mr. Barker's daughter. Mrs, Grace Brackenbury and children and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bell and family, of Spanish Fork, spent Memorial Day and the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Howells. Mrs. Ethel Baril returned Thursday tfrom Ogden, whene she has been visiting for several weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Ashel Bingham visited for a few days with, their son, Acel, and family. They returned re-turned to Fish Lake, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs". Charles Meranda and son, Tom, of American Fork, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Barker and Mrs. Bill Turnbow, of Heber, Heb-er, were Myton visitors on "Memorial "Mem-orial Day. Mr. and Mrs. James Giles returned re-turned last week from St. An thony, Idaho, where they enjoyed enjoy-ed a two weeks' visit with their daughter and family. Mrs. Willard Smith returned home last week from Beaver, where she directed the Beaver Seminary pageant. Mrs. Maud Woods, Hughes Woods, Bob Woods, Auditn Woods and Mrs. Audrey Fahren-buch, Fahren-buch, of Salt Lake City, spent Memorial Day here with relatives. rela-tives. Mrs. Edith Mathews, of River-ton, River-ton, is a visitor at the ranch home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Hancock. Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Dart and children and Alva Dart, of Price, spent Memorial Day in Myton. returning home that evening. The young son remained to visit at the O. A. Dart ranch. Mrs. Tom Rogers, of Salina, and her son-in-law and daughter, Mr and Mrs. Arlo Fairbanks, and son, of Salt Lake City, were guests at the Matt Uresk ranch home on Memorial Day. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Porritt, who have been residing at Val-my, Val-my, Nevada, returned to Myton, Thursday. They expect to make their home here. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hart were dinner guests, Friday, of Mr. and Mrs. James Dalgleish. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Emery Nielson on Memorial Day were Mr. and Mrs. Silas Ross and daughter, of Castlegate; Mr. and Mis. Don Ross and children, of Price; Mrs. Hale Holgate and daughter, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bird and family, of Arcadia, and Mr. and Mrs. James Summers, of Duchesne. Mrs. Gladys Walker, of Salt Lake City, came to be with her brother and- sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Smith, during bereavement. Miss Gladys Hunt, who has been seriously ill for several weeks, was taken to the Roosevelt Roose-velt hospital, Monday. Margaret Mary Harris, Nancy Todd, Frances Funk, Fredricka Dart, Nina Babcock, Richard Jennings and John Jennings, who have been attending Wasatch Was-atch Academy at Mt. Pleasant, returned home last week to spend the summer vacation with their families. Mr. and Mrs. Owen Payne and son and daughter arrived Thursday Thurs-day from Provo to spend the weekend at the home of Mrs. Payne's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Bywater. Mr. and Mrs. Emery Nielson enjoyed a visit Saturday from Robert McCurdy, George Mc-Curdy Mc-Curdy and Emerson McCurdy and son, of Kenilworth. Mr. and Mrs. James Dalgleish were guests of Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Adams, in Roosevelt, Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Mylan Bywater, of Clearfield, spent the weekend in Myton. They had visited in Lapoint with Mrs. Bywater's relatives on Memorial Day. |
