Show Funerals WM. G. ZOWE Funeral services for William G. Zowc, 82, Uintah Basin pioneer pio-neer and former Mytorr postmaster, postmas-ter, were held Sunday, March 27, in the masonic 'temple at Roosevelt under the direction of Basin Lodfe'c No. 20, F. & A. M. Mr. Zowc died last Friday in Salt Lake City of a lingering illness. Born October 31, 18G6 in Ilerzberg, Germany, he moved to the Uintah Basin and settled at Myton prior to the opening of the reservation in 1905. He-worked He-worked at the Ilayden Calvert store in Myton and served as postmaster there from 1914 until un-til May 1, 1923. He was manager of the Farmers Farm-ers Seed plant in Myton from November 1, 1923 to 1926. and operated a farm on the North Myton Bench until 1943 when he moved to Salt Lake. He was married to Wilma Darff in Denver, October 29, 1908. She died March 4, 1936. Mr. Zowe was a member and past master of Basin Lodge No. 20, Free and Accepted Masons, and in February 1949 was elected elect-ed to life membership in that lodge. He was a member of Myton My-ton Lodge No. 57. Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and was the second noble grand of the lodge. Burial was in the Myton cemetery. |
