We believe this criticism is unjustified and that the virtual gift of part of the land to the county is in the finest spirit of the Churchs tradition of eivic interest. As McGown Hunt, chairman of the civic center committee pointed out, it would be impossible to hold, any other conventions in this town during conference. We can be certain the center would go unused during the 24. days the Church desires to use it. Whether or not the site is the ideal one, in terms of the long range future, no one can say. It certainly is as good' as any other. Those who regard the arrangements with suspicion should consider the positive benefits for the community as well as the Church. Separation between religious bodies and governments is necessary, but shouldnt be carried to ridiculous extremes. We would express, in concert with many in this valley, our gratitude to the Church in making possible this civic center at a much lower cost than could have been otherwise obtained. non-Morm- ons PC MNM EDITORIALS Boards Decision: Wild Dream Or New Concept? The Granite School Board has a serious obligation to consider J. Leonard Harmans plans for the Carl Sandburg Elementary School in Granger. Mr. Harmans design is an unconventional one, but he maintains on the basis of experience and his professional knowledge that the shell principle he proposes would provide real economies. This is not the pear Sir: I read with Interest your June 18 editorial criticizing my statement adverse to Gov. Scrantons now abandoned Utah foray. Romnej during their respective Utah visits. Additionally, I served on the general committee for the Romney dinner.
