pledged themselves to buy a 1926 yearbook making a total of two hundred twelve the big assembly wednesday morning and spirit into every student ing put pep it made everyone anxious to suppo support rt the ye yearbook arlook staff boost your school was sung by the entire assembly then talmadge adge delange offered invocation A dream was told by bv the editor of the staff stella quinn she related how slie she had seen the fhe coming of the yearbook how well she unfolded that significant vision a vision of the high schools best yearbook put over by an enthusiastic student body the school orator kenneth isbell then gave a talk entitled do you want a yearbook mrs helen poulson then sang two soprano solos remember and he loves me ale A talk memories al em ories of my yearbook by miss nelson came next in which old happenings were brought back to the students old memories that would have passed entirely out of their mands had it not been for miss nelson and her yearbooks year books A stunt and sons song by thice of the schools song birds mae roberts madge gray and ruby camp followed jennie old loyd the snap catcher of the staff recited an nal poem snaps while the yearbook pledges were beng ing signed talmadge delange read the fre shies diary from last years yearbook and other comic snatches which brought forth much laughter sentiments from the assembly concerning the yearbook were given by members of the different clubs and classes 6 asses each responded by pledging support to the yearbook the assembly was concluded with nine peppy rah rab for the staff and the yearbook bearbo ok of 26 wild cats again victorious such a peppy and thrilling game as was played friday night between the monroe high school and the R H S has never before been seen in richfield after a close and hard fought contest the wildcats were victorious with nith a score of 32 29 both teams played exceptionally good ball and not mot only good but clean all spectators were satisfied with the clean spirit that existed between the rival schools up to date the wildcats have won all of the league games they have played and if the student spirit continues and the team continues at the fast pace they are now going there is a bright prospect for the R H S this year honor rolls the cards this term show improvement in the grades of most of tile the students this is shown by the increase in the honor previous to the game that was ms to be played that night in the TZ R H S gym with monroe high school chool the school song richfield was sung by the entire rally prayer was offered by ben bagley then mr air packard gave a epolt talk mainly on hunches also what he be ax pecked the team to do virginia bean an alumni student of the school played two piano solos following this came the ever redy ready girls and ahey surely are always ready reads to boost sar the team they sang songs and rave gave a few snappy yells the entire audience auf fience was then called together for a short yell practice valedictory subjects io to be selected belted the subject for their valedictory ais to be select edby the seniors this thin week three s objects haye hate been pre dented breadth of life as a real achievement what we need most can sevier afford good schools the first was submitted by one of tho the high schools in the disi brict the second was suggested to supt bupt ashman by this quotation from president coolidge Coo lidga we do not need nd more spiritual power we do not need moro more intellectual power we need more moral power we do not need more knowledge we need more culture we do not need more law we need more religion we need more of the things that are unseen everyone likes like to hear something that deals with them directly the third subject will serve tho the purpose of a valedictory and at the same time direct attention to one of the district problems it is hoped especially by the seniors that the final subjects will soon be ready so they can begin work ex executive committee chases sponsor in the executive committee meeting tuesday the eleventh a new sponsor was chosen miss bliss fisher was selected to fill this important position tion left vacant by miss farrell the three sponsors at the present time are miss fisher mr air larson and mr air smith after the sponsor was chosen the committee discussed points toward the honor club and several suggestions are being sent to the faculty for its approval t T A real pep dance the dance after the monroe R H S game friday jan 15 was one of the best est the school has had this year the pep that the victory over monroe put in the students lasted through out the entire evening as the crowd danced vigorously to the merry ALI makers akers music the strains of home sweet home leached beached the ears of everyone before the dance had hardly started or at least it beeme seemed 1 I that way however each consoled console himself with the happy thought there are more conling coming f mental clinic progresses although there are not many in attendance there will presently be still fewer the mental clinic has been very successful and those who have attended have derived great benefit from it all have resolved to do better work in school and attend classes regularly mr air barker was in charge of the clinic last week and miss christensen this week the teachers have resolved to do away with failing and delinquent students and irregular attendance the method adopted of asking these students to go to the clinic is s proving successful and in the near future there is not likely to be a large number of students at this meeting agronomy class laboratory the agron agronomy orny class has at its command an excellent laboratory mr smith has collected a large supply of valuable equipment to be used in in the department the laboratory contains an electrical oven for testing the gravity of milk a conceal graduate for testing the maximum moisture contents of different solids and also several soil bins for use in experimenting and testing soils samples of different seeds and commercial fertilizer are included in probably the most interesting part of the laboratory is itt collection of reptiles spiders scorpions etc this may be classed as a combined museum and laboratory but it is one of the best improvements ever made in in the high school and mr air smith should be complimented on his good work gym baskets moved when the R H S gym was recently re floored and otherwise improved the floor was marked off incorrectly the lines in the ends of the halls were made exactly even with the baskets whereas they should have been two feet in the rear mr packard however took some of his boys and moved the baskets each two feet closer to the center of the floor this rectifies rectified fies the mistake and the gym is now up to standard in every respect i senior farewells about ready for judges decision all alf senior farewells will be given to the judges for their decision on friday the judges will be chosen from people outside of school who know something of poetry and its best forms some exceptionally good is being done on thes 1 e poems ind and it is hoped that this years poem will be tile the best yet composed by a senior of the school parent teachers association to meet albect parents and teachers of the richfield association will meet jan 29 at the high school the second ward is planning a program of interest health of the school child will be the subject of the evening and will bo 0 discussed by a leading physician of richfield lUch field miss tex jex the school nurse will talk to the parents and health play will be presented by the i grade school dancing will wind up the evening R n 11 faculty to entertain on wednesday the a gala time is anticipated when the high school teachers will entertain tho the grade school teachers at a card party miss simons miss bliss larsen miss miller and mr air packard have been appointed as a committee to work on the project there will be about fifty people pres ent and will be the main feature of the evening A worthwhile worth while prize is offered and so all the teachers are arc warned to show their ability as 1 card sharks refreshments will be served and in all a very delightful timo time is expected cabinets please miss aliss larsen as well as the girls taking domestic science were overjoyed at the arrival of their receipt cabinets these cabinets are neat appearing boxes which are varnished and which open and close very easily each contains receive cards indexed and alphabetically arranged due to some mistake in the freight the boxes were delayed but are arc now at the disposal of those who ordered them shop changes work the freshman shop boys have changed their line of work the fore part of the year they were engaged exclusively in wood work but are now working with leather farmers bring in their harnesses and other leather goods to be greased and the boys do the work and the owner of the goods need only pay for the oil lass babp plenty of exercise a day keeps poor health away so believe the sophomore girls physical education class they have been playing another interesting te game of ball besides mass ball the large light ball is tossed in the air and knocked from one side to another until the signal is given for dismissal and though all out of breath the gills always wish for a longer class ever ready boosters boasters Bo at their last meeting the ever readies decided that if boosting the team did any good in the game they were going to boost to the limit did they well let the school be the judge their activities began in the pep assembly when they grouped together and cheered the boys wearing a uniform costume of the middies caps and red ties and occupying a corner comer of the gymnasium the ever readies began the yells no one shouted louder or lustier than they did especially when the last basket brought the R H S to victory ag club pins ping last friday members of the ag club were surprised to find that their pins had arrived mr air maughan gave a very good talk about an ag club and its value which was deeply appreciated precia ted by every member after all necessary business of the club its president presented each member with his pin the pin is a small gold block A with R H S and 1926 in raised letters across the front of it this year is the first time the ag club has had a pin which makes it all the more appreciated precia ted thespian vaudeville six new members of the thespian club gave a vaudeville as the final part of their initiation january 13 which proved to be very interesting to the old members of the club some of the features were shooting of dan mcgrew in song form song moonlight and roses by a girl who cant sing reading about all members of the club ballet dance by an awkward boy if the new members do as good work in the club as they did in their initiation that hat club is bound to be a success r red hens to have play tryouts tryouts for the red hens play Syl sylvias Nias aunt will be held next monday the play does not include parts enough for all the members so tryouts will be necessary to determine who is qualified for them all members are working hard and they expect the winners to really merit their parts show spirit did the show their loyalty to the team friday night they most certainly did caps woe and the freshmen met with I 1 miss christensen saturday morning at ten the executive committee of the sevier teachers association met at the office of supt bupt ashman miss miller depre represented anted richfield A A meeting of the district teachers was announced as being planned for the latter p part art of the month probably january 30 freshly varnished are the bookcases which hold the schools books the cases are in miss millers room so it is no wonder that her smile is almost as broad as that of the new cases reed anderson of the junior class is back to school after a severe attack the honor of being selected select d as secretary of the commerce club of the school this club is organized for the purpose of fostering activities in the school for the benefit of the students of
