Max is training at the Will Rogers Field at Oklahoma City; his ship being the Lt. Owen Wahlstrom who has been stationed at Mather Field, Calif., was a bietf visitor at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Wahlstrom of Laketown, .while enroute to another base in Florida where he will be stationed for the next few weeks. Owen has been piloting the Billy Mitchell bombers, which were used in the flight over Tokyo. Geor j Brown, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mariner Brown of Woodruff, has just returned from the North, African war zone, and is visiting with his parents. He is attached to the Medical Corp of the Army, and has seen a lot of the ghastly results off modern warfare. George says it is good to be home. They returned to their jobs in Tooele, Utah, last Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Smith and son Pvt. Alva Smith, and daughter Florence, motored to Huntsville Wednesday, Dec. 22nd, to attend the funeral of Loma Johansen, who died from injuries received in an auto accident, Dec. 11th in which two other high shoool students were killed. Pvt. Alva Smith came to spend Xmas i with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred iSmith, and their family who were all home except S. Sgt. William J. Smith, who is in the Pacific and Mrs. Violet Johansen who lives in Hollywood, Cal. Alva works in the quartermaster dept, in Supply and Service. He says he dont mind the work but will be glad when it is all over and he can come back to the farm. He returned to camp Monday. Stanley Wilson of Ogden returned on Friday after spending Christmas with Mr. j Gilbert . - Locals LAKETOWN The Mutuals started the festivities last week when the Juniors did some caroling on principal street comers, after which they were given a nice party at the ward hall given by their class leaders. v One of the outstading parties of the season was the choir Xmas party at the ward hall Thursday evening, Dec. 23rd, sponsored by chorister Lola Johnson, and associates. The choir met early at the hall and from there were transported in a large truck around all the blocks of the city singing Christmas carols. They then returned to the hall and limbs thawed out their and feet by doing a few lively dances. Then moved to the banquet room where a splendid supper was served. The Christmas color scheme was carried throughout. Small Xmas trees with lights and trimmings adorned the tables and the salad and ice cream were in Xmas colors. This was followed by dancing for the remainder of the evening, and all pronounced it a very good party. Elach members was called upon to make a Christmas wish. Santa appeared and presented each a gift. On Friday, Christmas eve, the Primary presented a pageant on the Birth of the Savior. After the pageant a Junior dance was had, when Santa Claus entered and presented each member with a present. Pop com balls were given to each person present Much pleasure to the multitude of children present, and each child went home with a merry heart Mr. and Mrs. Carl Norris and Mr. and Mrs. Farrell Johnson went to Wellsville and Logan to spend the Christmas holidays.
