Menus for the week of Feb. 9 include: salad Monday, Feb. 9, combination pizza, shades of green milk. and cookie dressing, chilled fruit, crunchy applesauce, Tuesday, Feb. 10, sliced turkey, whipped potatoes buttered mixed veggies, rolls and butter, cherry shortcake with topping and milk. Wednesday, Feb. 11, shepard pie, green set salad with pears and pineapple, stewed prunes, cinnamon rolls and milk. Thursday, Feb. 12, roast beef, whipped potatoes apricots and pineapple, buttered peas, bowknot rolls brownies and milk. Friday, Feb. 13, stacked ham sandwich, lettuce salad, baked beans, fruit cup, Valentine cookie and milk. The Heritage Centers February monthly luncheon and Valentines 12 at Day Dance will be held Feb. 11:30 a.m. The entertainment will be provided by the Old Timers and by Jerry Jackson, a professional vocalist. The dance will follow. The menu for the February luncheon will include roast beef, potatoes and gravy, buttered peas, rolls, fruit and brownies. We are planning a very special celebration. Please plan to attend. Call the center by noon Feb. 11 for lunch and transportation reservations. Income Tax assistance for those 60 years of age and older is now available at the Heritage Center each Tuesday from p.m. This service will be by appointment only. Kort DeLost will present an arthritis and medication seminar Feb. 10 at 10 a.m. at the Heritage Center. This should be very informative since arthritis is one of the leading health problems among the elderly. Anyone interested is encouraged to attend. Our thanks to the volunteers who are helping us at the legislature. Your help is needed and greatly appreciated. Your presence at the legislature and your telephone calls do make a difference. If anyone is interested in serving on our Legislative Committee or in helping with our Telephone Tree, please call Alice John7 or Karmen Rowse son, Fair, Temple Square, and the Dickens Festival. The group charges a minimal fee for a half hour program which consists of solos, trios and group numbers that include dialogue and choreography. Their backgrounds range from professional experience in music to school choirs, or church organists and community musicals. Whatever the background, they come together with a common goal to sing as with One Voice. They s take their name from Barry A local singing group, One Voice is becoming popular with area clubs and church and community groups to provide enjoyable, experienced and tasteful entertainment. The group includes 13 women from Davis County who are busy with careers inside and outside the home. They have 38 children they leave each Thursday evening at 9 p.m. for a weekly practice. If the women didnt enjoy what they do, wild horses wouldnt take and home at that hour. LDS The Heritage Center is sponsoring two Aslaskan tours this summer. For those of you who prefer a short vacation we are offering an eight day Alaskan cruise at $1475 MISSIONARIES per person; and for those who would like to stay longer and see more we have scheduled a nineteen day cruise and bus tour at $2599 per person. These tours are scheduled for June and July. Brochures are available at the center. Brothers Tim, left, and Ryan Whitesides both are active Scouters, achieving high honors at a recent court of honor. Riney graduates KAYSVILLE Ryan and Tim Whitesides, sons of Boyd and Gayle Whitesides, both received scouting honors in a Court of Hon- or held in the Kaysville 12th Ward, Crestwood Stake recently. Ryan received his Faith in God Award, and previously received his Arrow of Light. Ryan is 1 1 Air Force Reserve Airman 1st Class Michael P. Riney, son of Beverly J. and Lester A. Riney of 444 Owen St., Layton, has graduated from the U.S. Air Force aerospace ground equipment mechanic course at Chanute Air Force Base, m. ELDER BENNETT ELDER TAYLOR SHIRLEY TOMLISON Elder Braun Dale Bennett, son of Dr. and Mrs. Bryce D. Bennett, has accepted a call to the Porto Alegre Brazil mission. He enters the MTC Feb. 18. His farewell will be held Feb. 8 at 1:20 p.m. at the Layton Antelope Dr. Chapel, 590 W. 2000 N. Family and friends are welcome to visit Braun that afternoon at the Bennett home, 791 W. 3000 N., Layton. Braun is a Layton High School graduate where he received a letter in swimming. In the Deseret News marathon last July, he placed second in his division. He has attended Weber State College and is currently employed at Desarose. Elder Scott Taylor, Farmington, recently returned home after completing two years in the Denmark Copenhaugen Mission. His homecoming will be Feb. 8 at 2:20 p.m. at the Farmington Rock Church, 272 N. Main Street. An open house will be held afterward at his home for all family and friends. Shirley Tomlinson of 1248 E. 1000 N. , Layton, has been called to the Des Moines, Iowa Mission. She will be honored at a farewell at the Layton East Stake Center on Feb. 8 at 11 a.m. at 1600 E. Rainbow Dr., Layton. Friends and relatives are invited to attend an open house at the home of Bishop 1650 E. Rainbow Drive, after the services until 4 p.m. Ms. Tomlinson is a member of the Layton 35th Ward and retired from HAFB. Hubenthal graduates Air Force Reserve Airman 1st Class Paul R. Hubenthal, son of Robert R. and Alice J. Hubenthal of 354 S. 725 E., Layton, has graduated from the U.S. Air Force aerospace ground equipment mechanic course at Chanute Air Force Base, 111. During the course, students were taught to repair generators, gas turbines and hydraulic pumping equipment. They also earned credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force. He is a 1986 graduate of Layton High School. McAllister to serve LDS mission Michael Boyd McAllister has been called to serve in the Korea Seoul West LDS mission. A farewell will be held Sunday, Feb. 8 at 1:05 p.m. in the Rock Chapel on Center Street and 2nd East in Kaysville. Mike will enter the MTC Feb. 11. Mike is the son of Sam and Anna McAllister at 33 N. Pin Oak Lane. He is a member of the Kaysville 8th Ward, Kaysville South Stake. He is a graduate of Davis High School and Kaysville LDS Seminary. While at Davis, Mike participated in musical productions, concert choir, Madrigals and stage productions. He has also been involved in Community Theatre and participated in the Happy Hollow Music Productions for several years.
