Patti Smith and Tami Martin were selected to be part of the opening necrology ceremony. Jenny Driscoll, Jenny Brown, Shannon Hansel and Michelle Gieseb-recwere selected to be part of the opening flag ceremony. Michelle Giesebrecht is Guide of Bethel 19, Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Michelle was able to fly to Utah and stayed with the Bethel 15 members for a week before returning home. Grand Bethel Honored Queen, Diana Montgomery honored her representative officers for all of their help as protems around the state this past year. Four of the 17 representative officers were from Bethel 15, Melody Driscoll, Jennif- place. In quilting Shannon Hansenl received a second place. In photography Shannon Hansel received a first place. In ceramics Shannon Karin lenged Jobs Daughters last year to set and meet goals in several areas. ht er Brown, Kari Smothers and Webb. Teresa Garcia, PHQ 15 was installed as Grand Bethel Junior Princess; Shannon Hansel, PHQ 15 was installed as Grand Bethel librarian. In the Miss Utah Jobs Daughter Pageant Malinda Rowe of Bethel 10 was chosen to represent Utah for the 1987-8- 8 year. Shannon Hansel was second runner-u- p and Teresa Garcia was fourth runner-u- p. Lisa Painter HQ, Shannon Hansen PHQ, Monica Painter and Tami Martin each performed escort duties at the grand guardian council installation. In arts and crafts, creative art, Tami Martin received a first place and Shannon Hansel an honorable mention. The Grand Guardians chal- Those challenges were met by Bethel 15 and they received the first place in this challenge com- petition. Travel trophy for the most miles traveled visiting other Bethels was won by Bethel 15. Bethel 15 received a first place trophy for greatest percentage of growth increase; a first place trophy for ritual in large Bethel category; a first place choir trophy; first place skit, and first place in drill. The Grand Masters sweepstakes trophy was awarded to Bethel Fifteen as the first place winner. The object of Jobs Daughters is to bring together young women between the ages of 11 and 18, for spiritual and moral upbuilding, to seek knowledge, to teach love of home and family, and reverence for the Holy Scriptures. The Davis County Competition Show: Competition 87 will open Sunday, May 10 with a reception from 5 p.m. at the Bountiful-Davi- s Art Center, 2175 South Main, Bountiful. The public is invited. The annual competition in paintings, drawings and prints is juried this year by Richard Johnston, professor of art at the University of 2-- Utah. Cash awards for first, second and third place will be awarded, along with honorable mentions. The exhibit, open to current Davis County residents, will be on display through June 5. The staff of the Heritage Center would like to extend a warm thank you to Mr. Fisher and the other dedicated volunteers. This will be the last monthly luncheon until September. Please plan to attend. The Heritage Center would like to congratulate Ada Forbes on her 80th birthday. An open house was held Saturday, April 25 in her honor at her sons home. Congratulations are also in order to Victor Fisher, one of the volunteer homebound meals drivers, who was a recipient of the Carnation Silver Bowl Award, presented by Governor Bangerter, and given for outstanding volunteerism. Mr. Fisher, along with 23 other volunteers from across the state, was honored at a reception held in the contest rules noted those Philomels.
