They include: top, Rakel Thompson, left, and Marcee Thompson; front, Julie Petersen, left, Angie Ashmead and Camille Crowther. Five baton twirlers from Judys Dance Workshop in Kaysville recently took second place in a USTA Twirling Invitational held in Salt Lake City in November. They entered the Twirling Teams division and performed a three minute routine for national judges. This is the first mtqor competition these girls have been in. Their routine received ovations from the audience as they performed with two batons as well as I one. The girls entered individual events too, and they all came home with several ribbons and medals. They have taken baton lessons for three to four years now and have performed in many parades and several local places such as Layton Hills Mall, Lagoon and 49th Street Galleria.
