Show 1) r4 f t Nolo Buchanan Becomes Bride In Salt Lake Temple Rites A .tovely wedding reception honoring Mr. and Mrs. Carl G. Buchmiller (Nola Buchanan) was given Thursday evening in Memorial Hall at Sowiette park. The couple were married in temple rites, Wednesday in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence E. Buchanan, parents par-ents of the bride; Mr. and Mrs. John H. Buchmiller, of Rex-burg, Rex-burg, Idaho, parents of the groom; Mr. and Mrs. Golden Buchmiller, brother and sister-in-law of the groom and Mrs. Russell Kern, sister of Mr. Buchmiller, attended the couple in the temple. A delicious wedding dinner was served at a Salt Lake cafe after the marriage. For her reception the bride wore an exquisite model of brocaded white taffeta. Her net veil was held by a beaded crown. White roses with ribbon streamers made up, the bridal bouquet. Verla Bell, mald-of-honor, wore a lovely gown of soft peach shad, The bridesmaids, Helen Cowley, Na omi Buchmiller and Beverly Duckett wore frocks .of pastel shades with matching flowers. Mothers of the couple were presented pre-sented with corsages from the groom. With the parents and wedding party in the receiving line were Mr. and Mrs. Leo Herbert. Beautiful floral arrangements were used throughout the build ins. The serving table Was cent ered with a large wedding cake flanked with flowers and cathedral cathe-dral tapers in golden holders, Ruby Ru-by Cowley, Elda Cowley and Virginia Vir-ginia Nuttall poured. They were assisted by Bonnie Theobold, Inez Theobold, Joyce Muir and Mary Lou Neeley. The many gifts were displayed under the direction of Mrs. Nephi Burgener and Jessie Cowley. During the .evening a program was presented with M. W. Smith acting as master of ceremonies. He was introduced by Bishop Gregory Austin, of Park ward, who gave a toast to the bride. Alice Christensen gave a toast to the groom. Musical numbers included: instrumental selections by Carol Baker and Nola Maughn; vocal numbers, Clark White, ac companied by Mrs. Florence Britsch; violin solos, Romano Smith, accompanied by her moth er, Mrs. M. W. Smith; xylophone duet, Alfred Swenson and daugh ter, Rosalie, accompanied by Mrs A. Simmons; songs, Mrs. Ernest Whitehead; vocal number, Naomi Na-omi Buchmiller accompanied by Jessie Cowley; male chorus numbers num-bers by Curlers of Song, of Park ward. The couple left today for a hon eymoon to the parks of Southern Utah. This summer they will live on a ranch in DuBois, Idaho. They plan to return to Provo this fall, where Mr. Buchmiller will attend Brigham Young university. Mrs. Leo Herbert, MIA leader, entertained at her home at a pretty pret-ty shower for Mrs. Buchmiller, recently. re-cently. All M-Men and Gleaners of the ward were invited. Gifts, games and luncheon featured the party. i r m Mm " mm m Mr. and Mrs. Lon Christensen and daughters Lonna Lee and Gayla will leave by car next week for Jacksonville, Florida, where Mr. Christensen, who is in the U.S. navy, is to report for further duty. They have been visiting relatives rela-tives in Orem and Pleasant Grove since May 1 and are the house guests of Mr. Christensen's mother, Mrs. Blanche Christensen. Christen-sen. Milton Bellows who has been confined at the veterans hospital for several months is improved enough to be moved to his home, where he is reported as improving improv-ing favorably. Miss Fern Davis of Richfield is vacationing in Orem, and is Open House Set Today All friends and relatives oi Pet erer Groneman, who observed his 80th birthday Saturday, are. invited in-vited to call at the family home, 266 South Third West, today from three until six p. m. An open house reception is being be-ing given by family members to honor Mr. Groneman, who has lived in Provo all his life. Thursday a luncheon was given by Mr. and Mrs. Julian F. Greer for the Californians. Bidden were Mr. and Mrs. Leland Silvers, Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Shirl Barnett, Springville and Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Greer and Mr. and Mrs. Ferron Losee and family of Provo. The same evening a no-host party was given at Club Radar. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. George Meecham, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Silvers, Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Greer, Mr. and Mrs. Julian Greer and the guests of honor. A dinner dance at Hotel Utah In Salt Lake City also honored the guests, who left Friday for their home. R. S. Officers Given Party Class leaders of Provo Fourth ward Relief society honored the executive officers at a surprise party,- at the home of Mrs. flattie Bown, this week. Corsages were presented, songs sung and tributes read during the afternoon, in honor of Melvin B. Perry, president; Lillie B.
