A little bit of Venice,! with its winding canals and its picturesque gondolas, was transported to the hills of Connecticut recently when the exterior scenes in cosmopolitan pictur-izatio- n of the famous stage comedy, Adam and Eva, with Marion Davies as star, were filmed at Laddins Roqk farm, near Stamford.' The picture will be the feature at the Columbia theater Saturday. Ih converting a section of the beautiful estate, loaned by Villiam L, Marks, its owner, into a remarkable reproduction of a Venetian carnival scene, more than $40,000 .was spent and a veritable army of carpenters, electricians and mechanics utilized. During the shooting of the scenes Miss Davies and her cast worked four "days from sunset to sunrise, this particular section of the picture calling for nothing but night scenes. Joseph Urban, production manager for Cosmopolitan, designed a picturesque pavilion and band stand and a fleet of' half a dozen gondolas and a festival barge. The construction of the whole scene took two and a half weeks, two weeks being spent on the gondolas, reproduced from exact copies ?of the real Venetian 'gondolas and manned in the picture by real gondoliers who served in that capacity inVenice. .
