Show THE GREEN-EYED MONSTER. Our evening cotem. came out with a garbled and cistorted report of the Democratic feast held at the take Resort Re-sort Wednesday night. The Enquirer had no reporter on the grounds, it did not have enterprise enough for that; hence it tried to make a builoque ol the leport printed in The Dispatch and belittle what was said and done. This shows how keenly the organ smarts under its defeat, and how it tries to vent its impotent rage on the most harmless doings of the citizens who differ with it politically. Suppose the boot had been on the other leg, and the Republicans had gained the day and concluded to give a feast for the young men who paraded the streets in heat and dust to stir up the enthusiasm among the citizens, for their cause, why then it would have been an aggregation of giant intellects, sparkling with wit and wisdom, the speeches patterns of eloquence and patriotism pa-triotism worthy of a Pitt or aCnAT-tam; aCnAT-tam; the viands would have been choice, and the ladies who assisted. charming and captivating; the music, ' a heavenly symphony. But could any good conic from a Democratic gathering gather-ing of citizens under similar circumstances? circum-stances? Not in the eyes of the spiteful, spite-ful, jealous, envious and personified selfishness of the Enquirer, |
