Cashier Duseuberry, an old friend of Mr. Bancroft's introduced the party, par-ty, at the conclusion of which President Presi-dent Dodd was called upon for his little lit-tle speech. He stated he had left it home, but could tell the U. P. gentlemen gentle-men that it simply consisted of this one subject: Provo wants better depot de-pot facilities. Mr. Bancroft acquiesced, and stated that when he was general manager man-ager of the It. G. W., Col. Dodge, the president of that road, told him to confer with Mr. Resseguie, then general gen-eral manager of the U. P., and see if both roads could not agree upon building build-ing a union depot for Provo. Mr. Resseguie never gaye him any definite word, but now he (Mr. Bancroft) Ban-croft) could say. in behalf of the U. P., lhat if th R. G. W. was of the same mind now, as they were then, they were ready to enter into negotiations lor the construction of a joint depot. This statement gave the party to understand that something, more than talk, had been decided upon for Provo. Mr. Bancroft's idea is to close up the street leading from the pasture, and build the union depot at the foot of J street. The party were asked to stay and take a ride over town, but Mr. Bancroft stated that they wanted to reach Milferd that night and would not have time. He said he would be back Wednesday afternoon, and would then possibly have time to do so. This afternoon at 3:2-5, the party arrived in Prove from the south, and were met at the depot by R. II. Dodd, S. A. Wedgewood, Wm. Probert, S. S. Jones, Judge Dusenbeny, W. II. Du-senberrv, Du-senberrv, ''Propeller' Davis and J. F. Gates. They boarded the street car and went as far as the Sun Foundry, where they had the privilege of seeing the steamer now being built there, which they pronour.e. & a beauty. They were then taken to the grayel beds east of town, whre they had the pleasure of beholding the city of Provo, the lake, and all the beautiful scenery in the distance, which they very much admired. On the return trip they confessed they had heard much of Provo, but had no idea it was a city of such importance and such advantages. They boarded ti.eir special at ten minutes to 5, and who soon rattling off to Salt Lake. They all confessed themselves favorably fa-vorably on depot m.-itters, and there is no denying the fact but what Provo will see a change after all. The R. G.
