Her greatest gift was to uplift every- one around her, immediately helping them feel comfortable and special in her presence. Utah, April 30, 1903. to Charles Edward Worthington and Mary Eliza. Anderson Worthington, in their home in Nephi. When she was seven years old, the family moved to Emery, where her mother's family lived. On the trip from Nephi to Emery, in a family caravan consisting of two covered wagons and a family carriage, seven- Dessie walked all the way year-olon dirt roads and trails, caring along the way for Curly the cow. .. the family's prized possession Dessie' attended the Emery Elementary School which she lo ed. and dreamed of further education, f inally she was able, from 1918 to 1922. to feave home to attend and graduate from the Emery Stake Academy in Castle lale. where she formed dear lifelong friendships and rejoiced in the spiritual uplift of .her school devotionals and theology ' classes. .As a freshman, she entered the Church Education essay contest on the assigned topic. "The Past is Full of Glory, the Future is Full of Promise." and she won. the prize for her school, receiving the award of a personal letter of commendation and an autographed book from President Heber J. Grant. She later gave the graduation address at the Academy in the presence of Church Education Superintendent Adam S. Bennion. a man whose words and y . He was born on October 14. 1926. in Santaquin. a son of Owen and Evelyn Whimpey Kay. He married Bonnie J. Clement on April 5, 1952, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Jared (Amber) Robertson, Keven (and fiance Robertson, Brett Robertson, Chad Robertson, Kimberly Memmott, and Tyson Memmott, and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Mark; and two sisters: Berna Deane Peterson and Peggy Weierman. He worked for Geneva for three years and then went to work for Utah Power and he retired after 35 Light years of service. Don was a lifelong farmer and was a member of the Ferner Dog Valley Cattle Association. Don was a lifetime member of the Santaquin Fire Department and a member of American Legion Post 84 of Santaquin. Fie served 40 years as president of the Summit Creek Irrigation Company. '. After being sealed in the Salt Lake Temple, November, 1934, they brought 5 children into this world. Operating a small farm in Cedron, Idaho, where the winters were severe, life was not easy. Her callings were many in the LDS Church. She never shirked her responsibility as a Primary and Young Women's Teacher, even though riding a horse or walking through deep snow was sometimes the only mode of transportation to the little white church. Tiring of bad winters, they moved to St. Anthony, in 1956, where Marvin began work for the Post Office. Together they built a new home. Eunice served in the Relief Society Presidency and as a Stake Missionary in Yellowstone Stake. The bishop could see how busy they were and called them to be custodians of the Ward. Eunice suggested that there might be a less fortunate family that could benefit from this job. The reply came, we need someone that knows how to work and Marvin and Eunice stepped up to the plate and took care of the St. Anthony 3rd and 4th Ward Chapel for several years, until Marvin's death in 1964. Eunice then took on the task of Dorm Mother at Ricks College, and attended college classes, while raising a daughter by herself. Later she moved to Utah, to fulfill one of her dreams - a devotion to genealogical research. She also filled a Stake Mission in the Ensign Stake.
