Gas Rations For Boating Increased While Utah is no "land of many waters," still a goodly number of lake and reservoir boating fans will rejoice at the news of a 50 per cent increase in gasoline rations ra-tions for boats, which was announced an-nounced today by E. H. Azbill, OPA mileage rationing represnta-tive. represnta-tive. The present limitation will be increased from 24 to 36 gallons quarterly for inboards and from 10 to 15 gallons for outboards. Individual In-dividual rations are computed at the rate of two gallons per horse power for inboards and two and a half gallons per horsepower for outboards. Dahlquist of 658 West First South, is one of a group of 169 enlisted men who recently completed a strenuous t-week course to win com sions as second lieutenants, at officers' candidate school in aria. France, according to a bulletin received here today. Lt. Dahlquist entered the army air corps in April, 1943, after graduating from the Provo high school, attending the byu for three and one half yars, and com pleting a mission in the North Central states for the L D S church. He received training at Shepherd field, Tex., and Santa Ana, Cal., before being sent to England in December, 1944. Tech nician with the air communica tions division in France, Lt. Dahl quist went into active combat duty soon after the Normandy invasion. in-vasion. The only American O C S train' ing center outside the United States, is the one which Lt. Dahl quist attended. Approximately 2,000 platoon leaders are trained at the school each month under the direction of infantry lnstruc tors from Fort Benning, Ga., who were sent to supervise the train ing. He wears the American theater ribbon, the European-African- Middle Eastern theater ribbons, and the Asiatic-Pacific theeter ribbons, with two combat stars. Hamilton is the son of Mr. and Mrs. O. H. Hamilton of Payson. Before entering the navy, he was employed as an aircraft mechanic at the Hill Field army air base in Ogden,. where he worked for a year and a half! He attended Payson high school. June 25 (U.R) A Moscow broadcast said today that the Communist party had been reorganized in Berlin. "The Communist, party of Ger many has emerged after 12 years of bitter underground struggle; and is now officially registered with Soviet military authorities in Berlin and with the German magistrates," NBC Correspondent Robert Magidoff said in the Moscow Mos-cow broadcast.
