Hunters complain against the ammunition and high price of guns and many of them refrain from going hunting for that rea son. According to several hunters the ammunition is double in price what it was previous to the war. Guns that used to sell for $35 are now selling for $65 and $70, and ammunition that should sell for 85 cents a box is still selling at the war price of $1.5. Several ammunition dealers have verified these figures and say that , the prices are set by the arms and powder concerns in the east. According to these merchants they would rather have the hunting material at a lower figure than they are able to sell it at present as more hunters would then be in a position to enjoy the sport.
