Show PROGRESSIVE OPINION EDITORIALS By C. N. LUN D Men's Plans and the Master Plan While we have been publishing this paper we have read and considered upwards of a hundred economic plansor saving the people and the nations. Some have been common and impossible; some have been very good; all have made extravagant extrava-gant promises, some of which might be fulfilled, but many which never could be fulfilled But to find the master plan with all the promises absolutely sure of fulfillment we have to turn to the Old Book. There it is, within the lids of the Bible, with promises as sure as the light of the sun. And here are some of the promises: There shall be none to hurt or to destroy, or to make afraid. af-raid. The hands of the weak shall be strengthened and the knees of the feeble shall be confirmed. Those of a fearful heart shall be free from fear and be strong. People shall build houses and inhabit them, plant vineyards and eat the fruit thereof. They shall not build and another inhabit. They shall not plant and another eat. All shall enjoy the work of their hands and none shall labor in vain nor bring forth trouble. Swords shall be beaten into plowshares and spears into pruning hooks, and nations shall not learn war any more. Every man shall sit under his own vine and fig tree. They shall hold all the resources of nature in common and every man shall receive according to his need and abundant life shall be free to all Earth shall be babtized in a new paradisical glory. |
