Show A Child's Prayer We weep for the childhood of the old world, and ere long we shall do the same for the childhood of this country. "There's nothin on earth half so holy as the innocent heart of a child." "The laugh of a child wdl make the gloomiest day bright." Woe unto those who orfend or injure the little ones who are nearer heaven thau other people. Next to the heart, and soul of a child, the holest thing is a child's prayer, the prayer the little one was taught to lisp by the sainted mother. Some one has sent us a prayer which the sender thinks is the most beautiful of all prayers, so we pass it on to our read ers "All the day thy hand has led me And I thank thee for thy care, Thou hast warmed and clothed and fed me Listen to my evening prayer ' Keep me now from every danger, Let thine angels guaed my bed, Thou hadst nothing but a manger Where to lay thine infant head. Now 1 close my eyes so weary, Fold my arms upon my breast Praying thee, my God, to bless me As I gently sink to rest " - - |
