Show PROGRESSIVE INDEPENDENT WHAT POWER IS IT? PROGRESSIVE INDEPENDENT Issued every other Friday at Salt Lake Gty, Utah, in interest of Natural Government What power is it that is squeezing the economic life out of the workers and farmers and small business people of the country? What awful force is it that is putting such a grip and levy on all that the country has been blessed with? There is a sinister power, out of sight from the people and beyond the pale of law, which is 90 per cent responsible for the ills that are upon us. Why are the ills continued ? Why is the currency not inflated to meet the needs and demands of the people? Why is gold held so dear and kept so scarce while human wastage and wreckage goes on and on? There are underlying causes which a united and informed people could remove. But being neither united nor informed the people can do little, if anything, and must remain stranded and suffering until a leadership arises which will act in their interest and set matters right. We should have a leadership which will endeavor to free mankind, save the weak from the strong ; let the light of justice enter in ; and instead of devoting its stewardship to the will of the power of gold, will devote it to human welfare. second-clas- s matter April 26, 1932, at the post office at Salt Lake Gty, Utah, under the Act of March 8, 1879.
