Show u Young Musicians Please Crowd At Recital Tuesday Talented children of American Fork pleased a large audience of patrons Tuesday night in the Legion Le-gion hall, when a recital of the Junior Musicians of America was presented. Under direction of George E. Eas-on, Eas-on, who has conducted classes here during the past 18 months, children from five to fifteen years of age played instrumental and orchestral selections. Following the recital, mothers of the children presented a floor lamp to Mr. Eason, in appreciation of his work, and to compliment him on his recent marriage, his bride being the former Eeth Anderson of Lehi. A (-election by the orchestra, with guitars playing the solo parts, opened the recital proijram. Other numbers num-bers were: "Voices on The Air," by six guitar players; "Grandfather's Clock," by the orchestra; "Show Blossom Waltz," by six 6-year-old violinists; "Old Favorites" (Southern airs), by the orchestra; "Love's Old Sweet Song," violin solo, Shirley Beck; "Treasure Island March," violin trio, Anna Mae Mitchell, Janice Jan-ice Hansen and Shirley Beck, accompanied ac-companied by Elizabeth Mills; and "Junior Musicians' March," by the orchestra. Mr. and Mrs. Eason played several sev-eral numbers on the Hawaiian ful-tar ful-tar and marimba. It was announced that some members mem-bers of the local Juni- Musicians of America will be sent to the world's fair at San Francisco, to participate in a mass concert with other Junior musicians from over the country. i |
