Speaker will be Mac J. Bow-e- n, district coordinator of the Utah Valley Seminaries. He will speak on 'Spiritual Growth and Character Development in Our Children." Election of next year's PTA officers will follow the speak-er. Parents of Valley View stu-dents are strongly urged to at-tend this meeting so they can vote for the PTA candidates they prefer. The class with the highest percentage of parents in attendance at the meeting will be awarded a new softball bat. T :. - b l h , ) CAPPED Sandra Lewis, Pleasant Grove, Is being capped by Joan Carneseca, instructor in practical nursing at Utah Technical College. Sandra was pinned and capped last Fri-day, and is now planning on employment as practical nurse. Funeral Rites Set Thursday for Margaret Adams Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Pleasant Grove Stake House for Margaret Adamson Adams, 83, who died Monday at her home in Pleasant Grove of a cardiac arrest. She was born Oct. 1889 in Pleasant Grove, a daughter of Thomas and Ellen Bullock Adamson. She married Benja-min F. Adams on October 28, 1908 in Provo. The marriage was solemnized later in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died Feb. 23, 1968. Mrs. Adams was active in the LDS Church in the Pleas-ant Seventh Ward. Survivors include one son and five daughters, T. Ardie Adams, Pleasant Grove; Mrs. Russell (Bernice) Jacob, Provo; Mrs. Lloyd (Ellen) Peterson, Ogden; Mrs. Henry (Dezzie) Stoddard, Pendleton, Ore.; Mrs. Victor W. (Laura) Hammond, Morrison, N.J. and Mrs. Joseph (Margaret) Thorne, Salt Lake City; 25 grandchildren; 18 one sister and 3 brothers, Byron Adam-son, Lloyd Adamson and Mrs. Rowena Devey, all of Ameri-can Fork and Paul Aadmson, Pleasant Grove. Friends may call at the Olpin Family Mortuary Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the Stake House prior to the ser-vices. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Lions Hold Zone A Social in New Activity Center The Sportsmen and Lions Community Activity Center was the scene of the semi-an-n- Zone social of Zone A, Dist-rict 28 A Lions International. The large ballroom provided ample space for this large gathering of Lions and ladies. Over 175 Lions and their laides from clubs in Lindon, American Fork, Alpine, Lehi and Pleasant Grove joined in the evening of fellowship and entertainment and a delicious banquet was served. Lion Earl Carter was gener-al chairman for the host club. George Smith, president of the Pleasant Grove club con-ducted the meeting and social. The tail twisters, Harold Wool-so- n and Stan Johnson kept the affair lively with their tricks and jokes. Several prizes were given to guests and members. Past District Governor Mar-o- n Ovson was master of cere-monies and talent laden pro-ra- m was furished by numbers from the clubs in the zone. Club in the zone were hon-ored by District Governor Lloyd Winward of Vernal and Deputy District Governor Hen-ry Campbell, Zone B. Chair-man Dale Peterson and Bill Jacoby president of the Vernal club. Governor Winward spoke briefly and expressed his ad-miration for the clubs in Zone A, and the service they were rendering the communities. "When you limit your interests you limit your lives" was the message he left with the Lions and ladies. Hospital News Among babies born at the American Fork Hospital dur-ing the past week (ending Sat-urday, March 17) were the fol-lowing from the Pleasant Grove area: March 12, a boy to Gregory and Elizabeth Kelley Kortman of Idaho. March 12, a girl to Curtis and Sylvia Zimmerman Allen. March 13, a boy to Ned and LaRaine Cobbley Montgomery. March 17, a girl to Ronald and Susan Frompton Stephens. Other patients from this area at the hospital during the week included Dawna Boren, June Haslam, Kathleen Oscarson, Gene Maag, Edwin Darrell, Neil Fugal, Bonita Penrod, Helen Johnson, Kim Forbes, Don Gish, Frankie Jolley, Helen Hatch, Rhoda Dial. Funeral Friday for Beatrice Walker In Orem 34th Ward Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the Orem 34th Ward Chapel, 1500 E. State Street for Beatrice Char-lott- a Bjork Walker, 80, who died Monday at the American Fork Hospital of causes inci-dent to age. She was born Oct. 18, 1892 in Lindon, a daughter William and Eva Charlotta Anderson Bjork. She married H. Murvel Walker on June 12, 1918 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She received her education in the Lindon and Pleasant Grove schools. She was active in the LDS Church, serving as a Relief Society visiting teach-er for 40 years. Mrs. Walker took part in home dramatics and was a member of the DUP. She was a member of the Sunshine Committee of the Relief Soc-iety, and served on the Old Folks Committee. Survivors include her hus-band, two sons and two daugh-er- s, Bernard "Barney" Walker and Don M. Walker, both of Orem Mrs. Raymond (Eva) Hardman, Lehi and Mrs. Ro-bert (Janice) Craig, Tempe, Ariz.; 20 grandchildren and 11 Friends may call Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Olpin Fam-ily Mortuary, Pleasant Grove and at the chapel Friday prior to the services. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
