He dedicated his life to service and was a devoted member of the LDS Church. Friday morning, he began the day serving the members mem-bers of his ward. He is survived by his wife Barbara of Highland; four children: Amber (Eric) Woffmden, Dugway; Courtney Court-ney (Jason) Proctor, Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove; Todd (Laura) Long, Lehi; Dillion Long, Highland and five grandchildren; grand-children; brothers and sisters-in-law; Garth (DeAn-na), (DeAn-na), Edna (Les), Gail (Elaine), Pete (Sherri), Jolyn (Earl), and Wendy (Marion). Additional survivors sur-vivors include his sister, Peggy (Richard) and brother, broth-er, Mark (Sonia). He was preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter, daugh-ter, Brittney. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 8, 2004 in the Highland Sixth Ward Chapel. Interment was in the American Fork City Cemetery. He was a caring car-ing person with a big heart and he donated his eyes so someone could see. He worked at Pizza Pipeline, Burger King, Taco Bell, along with other places in the area. His parents, two brothers, broth-ers, Gaylan (Polly) Taylor of AZ.; Gary (Kimberly) Taylor of WL; and sisters, Jenny (Denny) Hinojos of PA.; and Jalane (Scott) Cline of UT.; along with 12 nieces and nephews survive him. Two brothers, grandparents, grandpar-ents, aunts and uncles preceded pre-ceded him in death. He will be greatly missed by his family, family pets, and those who loved him very much. He joined the LDS Church and was a Temple Worker. He married Angela (Angie) Mary Clutter on May 11, 1946 in Reno, NV. He was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War and retired a military officer offi-cer as a Major having served in the South Pacific Theatre, Deseret Chemical, Japan, Dugway Proving Grounds and the Yuma Test Station in Arizona. He was an avid reader of Western Americana, Utah History and the settling of the West. He also had a love of Indian lore and Native American History. He was a volunteer guide at the Hutching' s Museum. He enjoyed min- dening he learned from his father and grandfather. He loved to take his children fishing, hunting, and exploring the desert. He had a great sense of humor and loved taking trips to see natural wonders, landscape, and share his knowledge of geology and historic places. Survived by his wife, Angie; 1 daughter, Lorraine "Laura" Goates; 3 sons, Robert (Karen) Goates; John Dennis Goates; Glen A. Goates; 2 grandsons, Robby Lee and Andrew Goates; 1 sister, Ruth Wing. Butch was born ber 26, 1946 to Mae Hansen of Payson, with Novem- Marjorie and Barnett Lee Medford, Jr. Butch was born in Orange County, California Cal-ifornia and graduated from Bolsa Grande High School in Garden Grove, California. He was a good student and enjoyed playing football. Butch married Sherolyn Peterson of Lehi. He has worked for the Power Company (Edison) in California for 10 years and was also the owner of his own Kentucky Fried Chicken Chick-en franchise for 5 years. He owned his own janitorial janito-rial business for many years also, but the job he held just before passing away was that of being a clerk at the Orem Post Office. Butch was a member of the LDS Church and had successfully completed 2 Stake Missions, was Young Men's President, Sunday School Teacher, Home Teacher, and also taught Gospel Doctrine for a short great love of genealogy and a strong testimony of the gospel. Butch's hobbies were: gardening and yard work, fishing and a tremendous love to cook, and was fabulous fabu-lous at all three. Butch is survived by 1 his wife, Sherolyn, of Payson, and 9 children: Barnett Lee Medford, Med-ford, IV (Mica) of Ogden, Michelle Denise Hernandez (Alex) Of California, Noelle Mae Hunt (Chad) of Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove, Shawn David Medford (Kandice) of Eagle Mountain, Aaron Michael Medford (Anne) of Eagle Mountain, Troy Joseph Medford (Kristyl) of Pleasant Grove, Megan Sue Watters (Brett) of Pleasant Grove, Matthew Todd Medford Med-ford (Mandy) of Pleasant Grove, and Kimberly Medford Med-ford of Orem. He married Birdie LaPriel Shaw June 7th, 1933 in the Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She died June 1st, 1992. He received his education in Mapleton and Springville schools and L.D.S. Business College. He moved to Provo in 1928 and to American Fork in 1940. He worked for Schofield Auto Co. and later Utah Power and Light Co. as Internal Auditor and Accounting Supervisor. Retiring in 1974. He was a High Priest in the American Fork, 27th Ward. He held positions of Ward Clerk, Stake Auditor, Stake Financial Finan-cial Clerk, Elders Quorum President, High Priest Secretary Sec-retary and other positions. He worked on the recommend recom-mend desk at the Provo Temple for several years. Survived by daughter, Carolyn (Richard) Herron, West Jordan, UT. Sons, Wm. He was born May 3, 1914 in Soda Springs, Idaho, to John J. and Elsie Irene Skinner. He married and was sealed to Delia Annette Street on Nov. 14, 1935. She passed away Sept. 27, 1992. Married Colleen Christensen on May 19, 1993. Dad was blessed with many talents and abilities among which was being an excellent auto mechanic. He had a great love for his fellow fel-low men and lived a life full of service. Endless lives were touched by his love and service. The guiding force in his life was his testimony tes-timony of the Lord Jesus Christ. He was faithful and valiant to the end. Although our sorrow is great, our hearts are full of joy with the knowledge we have of the plan of salvation.
