Show Funeral Rites for Gwendolyn Lewis Held on May 23 Toucliing and Impressive funeral fun-eral rites were conducted in Lindon Lin-don May 23 for Mrs. Gwendolyn Lewis, 81, wife of Ed Lewis, who died Friday at her home. With Bishop Leon R. Walker presiding and conducting the services began be-gan at 1 p.m. Invocation was offered by Low. ell Baxter. Ellen Peterson and Audra Hooley sang "That Wonderful Won-derful Mother of Mine," accompanied accom-panied by Lorraine Ruffell. A tribute to Mrs. Lewis, written writ-ten by Ann Harding and read by Drucilla Smith, a granddaughter, granddaugh-ter, was given. Speakers who paid tribute to the life and work of Mrs. Lewis and her famiy and spoke words of hope and faith were A. H. Lowe, and Evelyn Oook. After closing remarlta by Bishop Walker, Walk-er, Doris Johnson and Eva Mil-lett Mil-lett sang the closing number, "Beyond "Be-yond the Sunset." They were accompanied ac-companied by Rena Keeitch, who also played postlude and prelude organ music. Prior to the church service, family prayer at the mortuary was offered by Grant B. Walker. Benediction was pronounced by Preston L. Atwood. Interment, direoted by Olpin-Sundberg Mortuary, Mor-tuary, was made in the Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove City Cemetery, where Fred Reese, a brother, offered the . dedicatorial prayer. Pallbearers, all grandsons, were Douglas and Clint Lewis, Eddie and Hal Lewis, Michael Davis and Howard Shoell. Flowers Flow-ers were arranged by ithe Lindon Ward Relief Society. Mrs. Lewis was born Dec. 7, 1878 to William and Ann Davis Reese in Almy Wyoming. She married Ed Lewis Aug. 29, 1898, in Mercur. She was a member .of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Sui-vivors include her husband, sons, . daughters, Ed W., Bill, Floyd, Pleasant Grove; Mrs. John T., (Sadie) Riley, Provo; Mrs. C. E. (Inez) Bunnell, Salt Lake City; brother, sisters, Fred Reese, Mrs. Ann Thomas, Mrs. Kate Thomas, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Lizzie Therman, Las Vegas, Nev. 13 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren. |
