Show Funeral Rites for Lindon Woman Held Wednesday Funeral services for Mr3. Luc-ial Luc-ial Shoell Shumway, 59, were held in the Lindon Ward Chapel, Wednesday at 1 p.m. Mrs. Shumway died following a heart attack at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the family home in Lindon. Prayer at the Mortuary prior to the services was given by a brother, Leonard G. Shoell. Prelude and postlude organ music was played by Rena Keetch and the opening prayer was offered of-fered by Ruben L. Tomlinson. Speakers were Joseph H. Ash, Alroy Gillman and remarks by Bishop Leon Walker. Musical numbers were given by Clyde and Richard Wall, "Going Home," accompanied by Kathryn Ann Rasband; an organ solo by Rena Keetch, "Softly and Tenderly Ten-derly Jesus is Calling" . and a vocal trio by Eva Millett, Patsy Roundy and Margie Walker, "Rock of Ages." Benediction was pronounced by Don B. Walker and the grave in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery Ceme-tery dedicated by Psiter B. Caldwell, Cald-well, a son-in-law. Pallbearers were Dale and Leo Carter, Kenneth Shoell, and Jay, Nyal and Don Shumway. Flowers were cared for by the Lindon Ward Relief Society. She was born in Lindon, Sept. 19, 1900, the daughter of Edwin C. and Melvina Cobbley Shoell, and has lived in Lindon since then. On May 16, 1928, she married Douglas Shumway in Provo, Utah. She is the mother of five sons and- daughters. Survivors include her husband, Ralph Shumway, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Peter (Donna) Caldwell, Grantsville; Mrs. Ray (Neva) Freeman, Pleasant Grove; Glade Shumway, U. S. Army, Korea; Kay Shumway, Lindon; six grand children; brothers and sisters, Leonard G. Shoell, American Fork; R. K. Shoell, Salt Lake City; P. E. Shoell, Clearfield; Mrs. Orval Carter, Pleasant Grove and Mrs. Unice Shumway, Lindon. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery under the direction of Olpin-Sundberg Mortuary. |
