Show FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR LEON GORDON Impressive funeral services were held Saturday, April 11, in the Windsor ward chapel, for Leon Gordon. The services, were under the direction of the ward bishopric, bishop-ric, and began at 2 o'clock, with Bishop Stanley Harris presiding and Counsellor Clinton Smith conducting. con-ducting. The house was filled to capacity with sorrowing relatives and friends who came to show their respect for the departed and sympathy sym-pathy for the bereaved family. The opening number, "Sweet Hour of Prayer," was rendered by the ward choir, directed by Mrs. Erma J. Swensen and accompanied by Mrs. Norma J. Hales. The opening prayer was offered by President W. W. Warnick. A tribute was paid by Mrs. Hazel Marrott who read a poem written by Mrs. Gordon's daughter, Mrs. Leora Roundy. Speakers who paid tribute to Mr. Gordon and offered words of comfort com-fort and encouragement to the family fam-ily were A. H. Lowe, Elwood Baxter, Bax-ter, John Thatcher and Bishop Harris. Har-ris. I Musical numbers interspersing the speakers were "Absent," sung by the Vineyard quartet, E. A. Beck, Roland Ro-land Harding, Elray Murdock and Kirby Allen, accompanied by Mrs. Elray Murdock; vocal duet, "In the Garden," and the closing number, "Going Home," by Ivan Pyne, accompanied ac-companied by Miss Pyne. Benediction was offered by Elden Swensen, and the grave in the Pleasant Grove city cemetery was dedicated by G. H. Shoell. |
