Show Lockharts Are Wedded Both On and Off Screen Motion pictures treat holy matrimony mat-rimony very irreverently. Happily married couples are separated and married to others in films. But not in "Brides Are Like That," the First National picture which opens at the Cameo Theatre on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, July 26, 27 and 28. In this picture, Gene and Kathleen Kath-leen Lockhart, who play Anita Louise's parents, are really married, both off and on the screen. Wed for twelve years, they were chosen because they are among the few professional married couples I who look the part. ' Before entering films the Lock-harts Lock-harts were leading character actors on the New York stage. Their versatility ver-satility in all entertainment fields has been amazing critics for years. "Brides Are Like That" is based on the rollicking stage play by Barry Bar-ry Conners. The cast ineludes besides be-sides the Lockharts, Ross Alexander, Anita Louise, Joseph Cawthorn, Richard Purcell, Mary Treen and Joseph Crehan. William McGann directed. |
