Show Melrose J. and Lois JVatson Pritchett celebrate sixtieth wedding anniversary t Melrose J. (Mel) and Lois Watson Pritchett celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner at Riverside Country Club, Provo, on Sunday, Feb. 14. Thirty family members were present at the dinner. Mel Pritchett was born to N.B. "Bone" and Olive Sanders Pritchett in Fairview, where he was educated. Mrs. Pritchett was born to James. R. and Lucy Elizabeth Roylance Watson in Spring City. Both attended North Sanpete High School in Mt. Pleasant. They were married in Manti Feb. 15, 1928. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. The Pritchetts have lived in American Fork for the past 45 years. Mr. Pritchett was the first foreman hired during the construction con-struction of the Geneva Steel Plant. He then went on to work at the Dugway Proving Ground, working on the construction of the first bomb disassembly plant. In June of 1949, he and his brother, S.K. Pritchett, organized Pritchett Construction. He retired as president of the firm Dec. 31, 1972. Pritchett Construction has built many freeway bridges throughout Utah, and has built many other projects throughout the In-termountain In-termountain area. He has been active in church and civic affairs. Mrs. Pritchett has also been in involved in her church and community. com-munity. She has been active in the PTA and local clubs, and worked in the MIA in several wards and stakes for 34 years. They have two sons and one daughter, M. Jed Pritchett,- Jr., Boise, Idaho; Michael Pritchett, Provo; and Connie Pritchett King, American Fork. They also have 12 grandchildren and 14 greatgrandchildren. Melrose and Lois Pritchett |
