Arnold Hooley's to Observe Golden Wedding Anniversary Sunday, Oct. 4 Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Hooley will observe their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 4 at the Lindon Ward Church, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Their children chil-dren will act as hosts. No invitations will be sent and all friends are cordially invited in-vited to attend. They request no gifts please. Mr. Hooley will be the sixth member of the Hooley family to celebrate their golden wedding wed-ding anniversaries. Mr. and Mrs. Hooley were married Oct. 6, 1920 in the Salt Lake Temple and are the parents of a son, Dean, Long Beach, California and daughters, daugh-ters, Ruth, Downey, California and Joyce (Mrs. Robert Yoder) of Princeton, Minnesota. Mr. Hooley was born in Lindon, Lin-don, Nov. 19, 1899 to Alonzo and Sarah Park Hooley. He has farmed and worked with cattle most of his adult life, during which time he worked for the Utah-Idaho Sugar Co. and the Lindon Thrashing Machine Co. For 15 years he was president of the Pleasant Grove Livestock Assn., and also served on the Lindon Town Board for 8 years and acted as president of the board for two years. He has been superintendent of the Sunday School and served serv-ed for 10 years on the high council of the Timpanogos Stake. His hobby is carpenter work. Doris Gillman Hooley was born April 2, 1900 in Lindon to Cheserton and Annie Mott Gill-man. Gill-man. She has spent much of her life working in the LDS Church. At the age of 13 she became organist in the Primary Prim-ary and later served in this capacity for all church functions. func-tions. Her work with the Primary Pri-mary consisted of being a teacher, tea-cher, counselor and president. She was secretary of the Relief Re-lief Society for 6 years and still acts as a visiting Relief Society So-ciety Teacher. Her hobbies are crocheting and embroidery work. Mr. and Mrs. Hooley served on the Old Folks Committee for 25 years and on the Lindon Ward Finance Committee for 18 years. |
