Ostergaard Oster-gaard of Lindon announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Laurel to John Stephen Cranney, Cran-ney, son of Dr. and Mrs. W. Doyle Cranney of Orem. The young couple will exchange ex-change marriage vows on Sept. 4 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple with A. Theodore Tuttle of the First Council of Seventy per- ,3 forming the ceremony. A reception re-ception is being planned in their honor that same evening in the cultural hall of the Lindon Ward Church. The bride will be gowned in an A-line style of delustered satin. The lace overlay on the pointed sleeves and empire waistline will be re-embroidered with seed pearls and irrides-censes. irrides-censes. Her shoulder length veil of illusion will fall from a crown of organdy and lace flowers, flow-ers, accented with rhinestones and pearls. Maid of honor will be Char-lene Char-lene Ostergaard, young sister of the bride, with Colleen Var-ney, Var-ney, a cousin as matron of honor. Bridesmaids are Kathleen Kath-leen Cranney, sister of the groom, Julie Ann Davis, Karen Kar-en Keetch, Ann Montgomery and Vickie Bronson. Their dresses will be of light pink sparkle crepe with bell sleeves in an A-line style similar to the brides. They will carry nosegays nose-gays of mums and ivy. Best man duties will be shared shar-ed by Brent Terry, a life-long friend of the groom, and Paul Cranney, the groom's brother. Ushers will be Steven Ostergaard Oster-gaard and Scott Ostergaard, brothers of the bride, and Alan Cranney, another brother of the groom. 9 Laurel is a graduate of the Pleasant Grove High School and four-year Seminary program. pro-gram. She graduated from the Brigham Young University in May with an Associate degree in nursing and has been employed em-ployed at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City. Stephen graduated from the Orem High School, where he was active in sports, and from the Orem four-year Seminary program. He served an LDS mission to the North Mexico Mission. During the summer he has been employed by the State Fish and Game Experimental Hatchery at Logan. He has attended at-tended Utah State University and the Brigham Young University. Uni-versity. After an extended honeymoon to the northwest and Canada, the young couple will be at home in Provo, where the bride will be employed at the Utah Valley Hospital and the groom will continue his studies at the Brigham Young University, where he is a senior, majoring in Zoology.
