Show Funeral Services Held Tuesday for Erastus Peterson Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Third Ward Chapel for Erastus Peterson, Peter-son, native and lifelong resident of Pleasant Grove'; who died Saturday Sat-urday at his home of a heart ailment. ail-ment. The impressive services were conducted by Bishop Calvin Walker. Walk-er. Patriarch L. M. Atwood offered offer-ed the invocation. A vocal trio, "In The Garden ' was sung by Mrs. J. E. Hardman, Mrs. Leland Beers and Mrs. Glade Bullock, accompanied by Mrs. Virgil Vir-gil Peterson. Speakers were Joseph S. Walker and Neils Fugal. Both eugolized the fine character of Mr. Peterson, Peter-son, his thrift and neighborliness, his quiet unassuming, yet busy life. C. Robert Peterson sang "The Lord's Prayer," with Mrs. Virgil Peterson accompanist. After a short talk of sympathy and appreciatino, by Bishop Walker, Mrs. Virgil Peterson played play-ed an organ solo. Miss Marlene Peterson played prelude and postlude organ music. Chris. A. Fugal pronounced the benediction. Burial directed by Olpin Mortuary Mor-tuary was made in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery, where Virgil Vir-gil V. Peterson offered the dedi-catorial dedi-catorial prayer. Pallbearers, all old friends and fellow workers on the Pleasant Grove Grazing Board were: Ed. Warburton, Owen Halliday, W. L. Green, Ed. Young, L. S. Walker, and Ed. Jeppson. Third Ward Relief Society cared car-ed for and arranged the flowers. A well-known stockman and farmer, he was born Dec. 21, 1874, son Rasmus and Hannah Tersson Peterson. He served on the Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove Grazing Board many years. He was a member of the Third Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Surviving are one sister, Miss Mary Peterson, Salt Lake City, and four nephews. Willis L., Virgil Vir-gil V., and Wesley N. Peterson, all of Salt Lake City, and J. Reed Peterson, Pleasant Grove. |
