Show Verland Johnson Funeral Conducted Thursday, Sept. 23 Touching and impressive funeral rites were conducted Thuursday, September 23 in the First ward LDS chapel for Verland Johnson who died Saturday Septemmber 19, at his home in Lindon. With Joseph Jo-seph Ash of the Lindon ward bishopric bish-opric in charge the service began at 2 o'clock with a violin solo, "I know That my Redeemer Lives," played by Mrs. Margaret Caldwell. Invoation was offered by Le-Grande Le-Grande Ercanbrack. Speakers who paid tribute to the active and useful life of Mr. Johnson John-son were L. S. Walker, representing represent-ing the Lindon Town Board of which Mr. Johnson was the clerk, and Bishop Alroy Gillman. Musical numbers interspersing the speakers speak-ers were a vocal trio "In the Garden" Gar-den" sung by Mrs. J. E. Hardman, Mrs. Leland Beers and Mrs. Glade Bullock, accompanied by Mrs. Mary Neves, and an organ solo "O My Father" played by Mrs. Neves. After closing remarks of sympathy sym-pathy and appreciation by Mr. Ash Warren P. Kirk sang the closing number "Going Home." Benediction was pronounced by H. paxman. Internment was made in the Pleasant Grove City cemetery, where Hyrum Johnson of Provo, offered the dedicatory prayer. Members of the Lindon Town Board were honorary pallbearers, while active pallbearers were Leon Walker. Oliver Johnson. Cecil Eul-lock. Eul-lock. Milton Smith, Paul Pack, and Joseph Swenson. |
