Show Funeral Services Held Monday for Clarence Wright Funeral services in memory of Charles Clarence Wright were held Monday, March 17, 1975 at 1 p.m. in the Olpin Family Mortuary Chapel. Pleasant Grove, Utah. Samuel Kopp. bishop of the Pioneer 2nd Ward was in charge. Mr. Wright, a resident of Pleasant Grove for many, years, died Thursday, March 13 ( in the Utah Valley Hospital following a long illness. Speakers at the services were President T. Ardie Adams and Frank Long, and a life sketch was given by Norma Hatch. Bishop Kopp also gave remarks. Vocal numbers included a vocal duet by Jeanne Walker and JoAnne Brady accompanied ac-companied by Margene Shumway, and two vocal numbers by Lorna Backus and Norma Smith accompanied by Pam Runyon. Prayers were offered by Ward Maxfield, Charles Allen Wright, Dallas Wright, and the grave in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery was dedicated by Hal Lewis. Pallbearers were Clint, and Carey Lewis; Gordon, Deloy, Jack and Brett Wright; Newell, Kim, Jay and Jerry Maxfield. Flowers were cared for and arranged by the Pleasant Grove Ward Relief Society and luncheon was served by the . Pioneer 2nd Ward Relief Society. Mr. Wright was born Dec. 21, 1889 in Pleasant Grove to James T. and Annie Robbins Wright. On Dec. 6, 1911 he married Grace Phylinda Newell in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and she died Feb. 5, 1951. He married Edna M. Lewis on Jan 7 1971 in the Salt Lake Temple. . Mr. Wright was a farmer in the Pleasant Grove area until 1954 when he sold his farm. He was custodian at the Timpanogos Stake Center for manv vears. Active in the LDS Church, he was superintendent of Sunday School and counselor in a bishopric. Survivors include his widow, two sons and two daughters, . Grant Wright and Mrs. Floyd (Ardath) Lewis, both of Pleasant Grove; Ken H. Wright, Orem, Mrs. Merrill (Cleora) Maxfieldt Paul, Ida, 19 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; three brothers and sisters, Amasa Wright (who died this week), Lafayette Wright, St. Inatius, Mont,; Eldon Wright, Mrs. Luke (Vera) Cullimore and Mrs. Iva Dean Newell, all of Orem; Mrs. Wendell (Lillian) Swenson and Mrs. Lawrence (Martha) Kirk, both of Pleasant Grove;- two stepsons and four stepdaughters, Jack M. Lewis, Dayton, Ohio; Ray L. Lewis, Thousand Oaks, Calif,; Mrs. Bernell (Norma) Hatch, Provo; Mrs. Emil (Helen) Jaeger, Murray; Mrs. Jack (Merle) Treat, Sandy, and Mrs. Larry (Margaret) Butterfield Riverton. |
