Show ft. Dee Smith Dies In Yakima of Heart Attack R. Dee Smith, 45, former Pleasant Grove resident, died in Yakima, Washington, recently, re-cently, of a sudden heart attack. at-tack. He was the promotion manager man-ager of the Washington State Fruit Commission in Yakima. A son of Rudger and Delia Smith, he was born April 9, 1926 in Pleasant Grove and was educated in the schools here. He attended Brigham Young University and was graduated from Utah State University and the University of New Hampshire Hamp-shire at Durham. He also attended at-tended Washington State University Uni-versity at Pullman. He was married to Fontella Jolley. They were later divorced. divor-ced. He married Lita Murphy in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple He was associate editor of The Goodfruit Grower Magazine Maga-zine in Washington, a former merketing specialist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and former head buyer for the Prosser Packers at Prosser, Washington. Surviving are his mother of Pleasant Grove, his widow of Yakima, two sons, Bryan, of Moses Lake, Washington and Robert, Yakima; three daughters, daugh-ters, Mrs. Jerry Hendrickson of Moses Lake and Amy and Ann, beth of Yakima; one brother, Nyal J. Smith of PI. Grove and two sisters, Mrs. Herman McCandless of Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove and Mrs. Rex Berry i of Tooele. ' Funeral services were held Wednesday morning in Yakima. |
