Show Funeral Services Held Saturday for Cecilia Jackson Funeral services in memory of Cecilia Ward Jackson, 66, were held Saturday, July 25 at 11 a.m. in the Manila Ward Chapel under the direction of Bishop David C. Harvey. Mrs. Jackson died July 22, 1970 at her home of natural causes. Speakers who paid tribute to the deceased as a wife, mother, neighbor and church member were Merrill N. Warnick, and Thomas W. Ward. Bishop Harvey Har-vey gave fitting closing remarks. re-marks. Nelda Warnick played meditation medi-tation music, Hal and Lucy Haycock favored with an organ and piano duet and LaVon Rudd, Cecelia Hurst and Alice Swenson sang two vocal numbers. num-bers. Family prayer was led by Bishop Roy Taylor, Clinton Jackson asked the invocation and benediction was offered by Ward Jackson. Pallbearers were Ward, John and Clinton Jackson, Roy Taylor, Tay-lor, Russ Spencer and James S. Hurst. Flowers were cared for and arranged by the Manila Ward Relief Society. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery where James S. Hurst dedicated the grave. Mrs. Jackson was born Aug. 21, 1903, Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, York-shire, England to John W. and Ann Walker Ward. She married Denton K. Jackson Nov. 30, 1921, in the Manti LDS Temple. She was a former resident of Salt Lake City and Richfield, and a worker in the temple. Survivors include her husband, hus-band, sons and a daughter, Clinton R., Pleasant Grove; John, Murray; Ward K., Mrs. Russell (Mabel) Spencer, Mrs. Steven H. Cecelia) Hurst, all Salt Lake City; Mrs. Roy S. (Betty) Taylor, Orem; 33 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, sisters, John A., Murray; Ben, Price; Alfred, Mrs. Elsie Ogden, both Richfield; Thomas, Sandy; Lawrence, Murtaugh, Idaho; Harold, Orem; Mrs. Francis (Ada) Schaeling, Dallas, Tex.; Mrs. Ellen Fairer, California. |
