Show Funeral Rites Held Tuesday for Rober' L. Powell Funeral services in memory of Robert L. Powell, 73, were held Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 11 a.m. in the Olpin Family Mortuary Pleasant Grove, under the direction dir-ection of Bishop Mack Palmer of the Grove Ward. Mr. Palmer died Saturday morning, Sept. 19 in the American Amer-ican Fork Hospital of natural causes. Speakers who told of the long and purposeful life of the deceased de-ceased were Horace Bean and G. I. Passey. William E. Petersen favored with two vocal solos, "I Know That My Redeemer Lives" and "The Lords Prayer," accompanied accom-panied by Dorothy Morehead. Invocation was asked by Paul Newman and benediction was offered by John Thornton. Pallbearers were Jeff and Robert Fox, Lester and Blaine Newman, Dean Powell and Grant Wiscombe. Burial was in the Murray City Cemetery where J. Dale Seely dedicated the grave. Mr. Powell was born Nov. 24, 1896, in Price, a son of Robert W. and EsteUa Hall Powell. He married Beulah Gallyer on Nov. 24, 1917 in Salt Lake City. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was recently retired from the Utah Power and Light Co. after 40 years of service, principally in the Salt Lake City and Orem area. He was a veteran of World War 1, and belonged to the Grove LDS Ward in Pleasant Grove. Survivors include his widow of Pleasant Grove; one daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Virginia Fox, Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Thelma Newman, Pleasant Grove. |
