Show West Mountain Views Mr Ruby Meredith Phone 8 Mr. and Mrs. Harold Erekson motored to Salina on Saturday to attend a wedding reception honoring Janet Davies and Douglas Hunt. Janet is the daughter ofWjlford and Nan Davies who were school friends of Mrs. Erekson. , An interesting and unusual family home evening was held Wednesday at American Fork Canyon for the Abner and Hazel Baird family. Those especially honored were; Lt. Robert A. Baird, son of the late Robert Baird and Loleta Baird of Orem, and his wife Maureen Baird and children Zane and Michelle. Lt. Baird is being transfered from Maryland to Honolulu; Lonnie Baird is leaving in the near future for Fort Ord, California where he will receive basic training for the U.S. Army and Joseph Alan Baird, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Baird of Orem was listed with the summer graduates from the BYU. Mrs. Hazel Baird and her mother Mrs. Rebecca Twede accompanied Mrs. Bairds daughter, Mrs. Rachel McOmber of Provo, to Fairview in Sanpete Stake on Tuesday where Mrs. McOmber was guest speaker at a Relief Society Mothers and Daughters social. There were Mrs Neva Schramm, returned to her home in Thayne, Wyo., after a very enjoyable two months with her daughter Neva and husband Carl Schramm and their families. Sunday, Sept. 6 was a special day for the family of Wayne and Shirley Bushman. They were hosts at a large family dinner honoring their daughter Carol and her husband Arvil Richards of Provo on their second wedding anniversary. Also of great importance was the blessing and naming of the little granddaughter, Alisa Carlton who is the daughter of Marilyn and Blaine Carlton. The Carltons are leaving soon for Florida where they will make their home for four years. Layne and Lanea Blatter are rejoicing over the arrival of a new baby daughter, weighing 6 lbs. and 13 oz., born at the Payson Hospital, August 20. This baby stayed true to custom as she raised the record for West Mountain babies born this year to fourteen girls and one boy. The new baby has one brother Nathan and two sisters Kenya and Tresa. Mr. and Mrs. Alma Tanner returned Sunday afternoon from a five day vacation to Lyman, Wyoming and surrounding places. They toured Flaming Gorge and visited a cousin Cal Squire and his family at Roosevelt. They report a very interesting trip and were happy to meet so many relatives. In a City Horseshoe Tournament at Memorial Park that took place Friday evening Harold Chipman came off winner, with five games to his credit and losing none. This is the second time he has won the tourney, having been named city champion once before in 1964. Thursdays events included free swima ming at the pool in Memorial Park and free water show in the evening that showed off talents of youngsters that have been in rehearsal all summer. An invitational swim meet was held Saturday evening. Mud from Saturdays rainstorm was handled by heavy road equipment and the track was in good condition by post time Monday. On both days the race meet was opened with a patriotic ceremony presented by the mounted American Legion color guard which led in singing the national anthem after posting the colors. Royalty of the celebration was introduced priofr to the start of each meet. Monte Taylor and his Dixieland Band provided entertainment and Ronald Hall was master of ceremonies.
